Reviews about "leadership"

Nursing department lacking
Mar 16, 2022 - Registered Nurse, BSNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Nursing leaders who have been at the unit level have high skill level.
Cons
The higher level nursing leaders seem to lack insight about what is needed by nurses at the bedside. Nurses with years of knowledge are not respected for their potential. Newer nurses with very little experience hired into leadership positions and asked for their opinions over experienced nurses.

A Time of Uncertainty But A Solid Organization
Apr 21, 2017 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Strong teamwork and sense of belonging. Opportunity to impact the health system from lower leadership levels. Constant tempo toward improvement with safety initiatives and patient care.
Cons
Continuing change in leadership and regional structure creates uncertainty and political upheaval.
- Current Employee, more than 5 years★★★★★
Great, but could be better.
Apr 19, 2021 - Biomedical Equipment Technician in Minneapolis, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great STO and benefits. Management has improved significantly over the years.
Cons
HR and high leadership is unwilling to help in difficult situations and always jump to any extreme.
- Current Employee, more than 10 years★★★★★
Decent place to work minus the leadership.
Jul 22, 2021 - Senior Applications Analyst in Minneapolis, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The benefits are comparable to other organizations.
Cons
Leadership is very disconnected and is not open to change which is the reason a lot of people are leaving

Fantastic Company

Benefits, Compensation, PTO, Culture, Work/Life Balance
Cons
Frequent reorganizations and leadership changes
- Current Employee, more than 10 years★★★★★
Pros
I have been working for Fairview for close to 11 years. Fairview is very big on promoting from within, and having been through no less than 4 promotions within the same overall department, I feel I am a great example of this.
Cons
Will be nice to have a CEO in place to show clear leadership and direction.
- Former Employee, more than 1 year★★★★★
Pros
Flexible schedules throughout the year.
Cons
Lack of leadership structure and clear guidelines.
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
I enjoy the individuals that I work with.
Cons
The senior leadership and administration do not give the necessary time to the front line staff. The demands and requirements of the job continue to increase but the compensation and job title remain the same.
- Former Employee, more than 5 years★★★★★
Pros
The healthcare needs that they fill need to be met. Most clinical providers are extremely caring. There are good groups of managers that have integrity and are able to overcome the lack of support and leadership by executive level management. Fairview has the ability to be great if it receives better leadership.
Cons
Some, but not all management, from middle to executive level will target you if they do not like your opinions. They ask for candid feedback, but will find ways to retaliate against you for giving it. Be careful if you do not understand this. Human resources staff are centralized and removed from the people. This leads to issues where some HR staff believe that all employees are trying to abuse the system, which leads to a lack of respect and care for staff. This is extremely damaging.

Pros
Well known healthcare system that has an established community. Recent alliances with University of MN physicians and HealthEast extend opportunity and reach for medical research and patient access. Recent investment in innovation and rebranding may reinvigorate the workforce.
Cons
Top down management. Inequality in pay for similar roles in other healthcare systems leads to turnover and dissatisfaction in all roles. Fairview has big ideas but leadership in the C suite has been transitional and erratic.
