I have been working at Fairway Independent Mortgage full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you've got the drive, this company is wonderful. They offer incredible tools, support, and technology for each role. However, you will not have success and promotions handed to you! If you are the type of person who is a self-starter and goes after things without having someone hold your hand, you will love it.

    Cons

On the flip side, if you're someone who needs constant management or hand-holding, this is not the company for you.

I have been working at Fairway Independent Mortgage full-time for less than a year

    Pros

•My branch/team feels like family. •Our successes are celebrated with an emphasis on the principal that every team member contributes to the success of all. •The company culture is focused on positivity, growth and encouragement. •Fairway has many benefits (outside of the normal health benefits) related to helping their employees continue to enhance their work/life balance. •It was made clear to me from the beginning...

    Cons

•Healthcare here can be expensive, but with large companies which need to take all of their employees with different needs and families into account, the "best option for the most people" idea is implemented. Also, benefits are not "all or nothing", so you can tailor your enrollment to your needs as much as possible. •There are so many online training videos that initially it can be hard to get through them all. However,...

I worked at Fairway Independent Mortgage full-time for less than a year

    Pros

A liveable wage and okay bonus structure to live off of - great co workers. excluding middle management figures who are overly critical and unhappy in life who favor the power and control technique to try to assert themselves in the making-myself-look-good department.

    Cons

Poor, generalized training, and an intolerant management structure that was not in close communication with it's employees they were governing. What's more disappointing is this supposed business culture that's not everything it claims itself to be - according to the company values poster on the wall- when they terminate someone and then use the state's "at-will" employment as the reason for they don't have to disclose...

    Advice to Management

Don't pretend be of religious moral values, and pretend to be an upbeat, positive loving ethical person, when in fact you execute such cold-hearted impulsive firing decisions without actually talking to that individual you've fired and displaced their personal stability. THIS is what is wrong with American. Layoffs are one thing, and 3 strikes is another.. However no-strikes, no communication and impulse decisions are...
