    Pros

Upper management takes in feedback and willing to pivot company based on market conditions. Great place for people wanting purpose and ability to make a meaningful impact. Employees entrusted with autonomy in their work to get positive results.

    Cons

Negative unfounded perception of company in market place. Sometimes a lack of resources to perform your tasks.

    Pros

Company with strong existing business ties that can keep it afloat. Upper management has been extremely hard at work trying to reverse a bad situation.

    Cons

After ReiJane's passing via unnatural causes, the company has been struggling.just to keep existing. This reflects strongly with employee morale and paycheck. Search company stock history. It is clear you are not there to have fun and grow, you are fighting on the losing side of the battle and tasked with aid to reversing the tide. If you get hired, you are probably replacing one or more expensive-er employee(s)... who has left.

    Pros

Small company, opportunity to get different types of experience in latest technology, foosball table, ping pong table, nerf guns, some upper management very good

    Cons

Small company, very low employee retention, everyone must wear many hats, very long hours, poor communication, very low morale, schedules are not practical.

    Advice to Management

Hire more smart people to share the work load. Try to improve morale and stop smart people from leaving. Don't be afraid to upgrade equipment so people can be more efficient.

"Awful place to work - Management is a joke. Managers only promote friends in their "click" Run Away!"

    Pros

I really can't think of any pro's but I guess their pay is okay when compared to similar types of companies and benefits are okay but they don't pay enough for the amount of disrespect and dishonesty that medium to higher up management gives to their employees.

    Cons

Management is very poor and if you are not in their click of friends, they will disrespect you even if your work is near perfect. The real source of the problem is that mid-level management is very friendly with upper management on a personal level which unfortunately, gives "mid-management" the ability to treat the staff however they want with no ramifications for their actions. As one of the other reviews said... "run for the hills".

    Advice to Management

Treat your staff in a more respectful manner and Promote people that deserve it for their good work instead of who is the most popular.

    Pros

Exposure to a lot of technology, ability to learn the ins and outs of storage industry.

    Cons

Upper management lacks directions, compensation is unfair, a job well done is never acknowledged, project specs & requirements always change on the fly.

I have been working at FalconStor

    Pros

Familiarity with technology - you will learn a lot if you take the time, there is a lot of equipment to learn and coworkers are good resources. Lots of good people work for the company in lower positions.

    Cons

Horrible management - I don't think anyone is actually trained to be a manager, and upper management does not care about the workers at all. Long hours are expected, as is working Saturdays. Some times people are called in from vacations for customer support. No appreciation for job well done but you will hear if you did wrong. Negativity is all you will hear from your manager, because he is hering the same from... above.

    Advice to Management

No matter what is said management will never learn to respect it's employees and the value they bring to Falconstor.

    I worked at FalconStor

    Pros

Competive pay structure for engineers in a down market. For smaller companies that have fewer requirements and would prefer to have the vendor configure everything, a portion of their software offerings would work well (VLT). Developing some interesting products. Very aggresive sales force.

    Cons

Falsonstor needs better upper management; most have an engineering background and have little management/executive experience. Plain and simply put, management doesn't understand the enterprise customer. The company is having problems establishing and maintaining a foothold in the enterprise space...plagued with constant software problems. Most of the enterprise customers they have had over the last five years are... moving to other vendors due to having suffered multiple failures or major outages resulting in data loss. There is little to no documentation available to distribute covering best-practices and deployment strategies. Documentation is only created upon request. Employees are not provided enough information and direction to have a chance to succeed

    Advice to Management

Treat people with a little more respect. Honor is more than a word thrown out in a conversation, there is a deeper meaning. Underhanded management and sales practices never lend themselves to succeeding in the marketspace. Customers are smarter then that and should be treated as such.

    I worked at FalconStor full-time

    Pros

    - technology - nice niche products - technical employees - in many departments employees are barely controlled ( you want to be your own boss join falconstor)

    Cons

    - no clear path. ( 2011 Bluestone; 2012 Bluestone; 2013/2014 CDP/NSS; 2015/2016/1stHalf2017 Freestor; soon?: Cloud mobility and VTL? - Forced startup spirit - Continued headcount reduction - No communication from the Visionaries ( upper management )

    Advice to Management

strategic planning process: Identify the target market Identify Competition Analyze Falconstors products and services Compare with competition Identify unique selling points Target customers with unique selling point change management: Motivation is so low i could not find a metric to measure it anymore speak with leaving Employees find out whats wrong Communication: Start getting the message to... everyone! - Memos - Team meetings - One-One talks - Better Information flow on decisions share critical data make sure employees at all levels understand how their actions impact the company. - Help employees establish the connection between what they do and how it affects revenue. Define clear cause-effect relationships so that it’s easy for them to see how their efforts impact the company’s financial results.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at FalconStor

    Pros

You can work independently. No micromanaging. Interesting technology. Very nice employees who are always willing to help. Very flexible environment.

    Cons

Little or no appraisals (supposed to be annual but not always). Reorging too often causes disjointed management. Need better planning and upper management direction.

    Advice to Management

Need better planning and upper management direction. Communication could be much better from management and between departments and business units.
