    Pros

Left the company in 2012 after 3 years working there. Relaxed atmosphere, helpful managers.

    Cons

2010/2012... High targets for each employee; targets increased regularly.

I have been working at Family Investments full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

New modern building right bang in the middle of town Security guys on the front desk are great Bonus is good

    Cons

Everything else CEO who takes a wage + bonus/pension/deferred pension and bonus of about 10x that of any private business. There are no shareholders to regulate his and the executives pay while us in the office get pittance. This company is going to be in major trouble when child trust funds flow out as there will not be the revenue from that and no contingency plans in place. Another major issue is 95% of customers...

I worked at Family Investments full-time

    Pros

There are some really great people that work there. That's all folks!

    Cons

The strapline is "for people who know that family comes first". Just don't expect to see your own if you work here. There's a culture of expecting people to work over their contracted hours and it's worn like a badge of honour for managers. And they emphasise blame. Oh and it's a backwards operation. The phrase "modern mutual" is constantly banded around but they don't operate in this century.

    Advice to Management

Stop what you're doing and start challenging things you don't believe are right. You're paid to be experts in your field. Start acting like it. Talk to your staff and treat them with the respect they deserve. Lead them - like managers are supposed to - and stop blaming them for trying their best but not being able to live up to unrealistic unexpectations.

I worked at Family Investments full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Local benefits. Small company so big insight to different products, not just the one you might be working on. In town so close to beach and shops.

    Cons

No training expected to know it in and out. Management has their favourites, and they will do well, others are pushed out the company or given the back seat. Upcoming courses not promoted to all staff.

    Advice to Management

Understand that salaries are not massive so training should be provided to understand role better.

I have been working at Family Investments full-time

    Pros

Trying hard to think of one

    Cons

the tone from the top is do as I say not as I do. Work hard, with no information, little reward and no thanks. So not expect promises or even legal agreements to be adhered to if there is any wiggle room

    Advice to Management

build some crediability. Actual live up to your statements. I you have cultures and values they apply equally

    I worked at Family Investments

    Pros

Great colleagues and a nice location.

    Cons

Where to start? Poor salary, awful self serving middle management, too few people doing far too much for far too little. Treated like naughty children. No chance at career advancement, if you become knowledgeable in one area you will never progress.

    Advice to Management

Advice to upper management is to completely gut the team managers you have now. Not one is capable of doing their job and all cover each other. You cannot respect a management team that sits on Facebook or their mobile phone all day.

    I worked at Family Investments

    Pros

    None, none, none and none

    Cons

Managers who have favourites and ignore everyone else No autonomy - treated like a child Mindless, repetitive work Spiteful, resentful colleagues in ISA team No personality required to work here Favouritism throughout! No progression opportunities

    Advice to Management

Sort your low level managers out, they are treating their favourites differently! Not good when one of your values is 'treating customers fairly'
