    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Family Support Services (MN) for more than a year

    Pros

I've witness and experienced many pros while working a New Center Community Services. New Center Community Services offers a great deal of training, experience/exposure with a variety of populations within the Mental Health field, there's great health benefits as well as other incentives for employees. In addition to extending an opportunity and fairness to individuals that began their career with no experience.

    Cons

A con I've witness is the development of a cohesive culture within the agency.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Family Support Services (MN) full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Ability to make your own schedule with varying hours, Supervisors are very understanding and helpful, Reimbursement for mileage is reasonable but not up to the federal rates, hours count for BOSW & BBHT licensures. Having a fuel efficient vehicle is something to consider before applying, you average driving (paid driving time) between 250-350 miles per week.

    Cons

Training period was relatively short. Although it seems that you are ready to work with clients, there are many technical details of the computer records, coordination and other daily keeping pieces such as mileage and hour tracking which could increase the efficiency of mental health practitioners. They have a shortness of supervisors able to provide clinical supervision towards licensure.

    Pros

Consumers need individuals who care about helping them to become as independent as possible. They need help in acquiring the skills necessary to function in their commnity.

    Cons

the pay is very low and if you have a family to support the income would be too low to just have one job.
