    No clientele needed. You can make good money if you are fast and do good work.

    Depending on the location, it can be very slow or busy.

    Laid back, loyal clients, friendly most of the time

    Cons

    Pay based on productivity so if it’s slow your pay goes down no matter how much you’ve made them. No benefits or raises.

    Advice to Management

    Give raises to staff who are loyal.

    Pros

    The stylist at my first location actually tried to help me grow and succeed.

    Cons

    They then transferred me to a location that was father from me I took a pay cut and the salon I was moved to was a lot slower than the one I came from. Not to mention I had equipment go missing while I was at the second location.

    Advice to Management

    Be more will to pair a mentor with your new stylist to help them succeed.

    Pros

    Clients were easygoing, this is a great kind of place to build your knowledge straight out of beauty school.

    Cons

    The owner was screwing the manager, who was best friends with half the salon and would give them any schedule they wanted. I was called the night before at 8 pm and told (while I was 6 hours away on vacation) that if I didn’t come in at 11 the next morning to cover her friend I would be in trouble. They forced me to do clients I didn’t feel comfortable with, wouldn’t help or check my work, then I would get in trouble for not doing it like they would. Not cool- spare yourselves!

    Pros

    Fast paced. Absolutely no drama. Opportunity to build a clientele. It's a team environment and you can always ask questions. Managers meet with you biweekly to go over how you're doing and help you set goals for yourself. Love the product line. Continuing education.

    Cons

    Honestly not much as far as downsides, I never want to leave because I'm so happy here. The money isn't great starting out but there's always room to grow. I know our girls who have worked here for a few years make a lot more money than I do.

    Awesome staff!! Great manager, no drama!

    Cons

    fantastic Sam's put out too many coupons and customers don't realize we work on commission and OUR paycheck is taking a hit, NOT the company so we end up not just losing out but resenting the clients who have them.

    Advice to Management

    NOT to mgt. Because the company is individually owned so it's NOT mgt. That does it, it's the franchise who puts out the coupons.
    Advise, eat the loss of the money and appricate your staff instead of devalue them.
