I have been working at FareHarbor full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Managers invest in their employees - Hard work always gets rewarded - Amazing values that are always upheld - The overall vibe in the office is amazing, there's not one day that I wake up not wanting to go to work.

    Cons

-Some people might consider cons the fact that all moves so fast, so you have to keep up the pace. (I particularly like it)

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing and listening to your employees.

    Pros

    - Encouraged to develop your own, unique sales style - Tons of flexibility with your work flow. Compensation is directly tied to production. - Quick ramp period with tons of support and sales enablement early on. A great job if you're new to sales because the product is the best in the business and honestly sells itself. - Awesome office culture, supportive team and management. Opportunities to travel, grow, and... learn. - We work with the tourism industry, so our clients and sales visits are the best!

    Cons

    - Compensation is heavily skewed towards commission, not for the faint of heart - I wish our office was in downtown Boston like other high-performind SaaS and tech companies

    Pros

    - Intellectually stimulating environment regardless of your department. - Endless opportunities for cross collaborating with different teams, which makes you more well rounded as a professional individual. - Surrounded by colleagues who are smart and supportive and fun! - Exciting industry with really interesting clients. - Competitive pay and healthy work/life balance. - Legitimately endless opportunities.... We're growing at such a nominal rate that there are always opportunities within your own and other departments!

    Cons

I truly don't have any outstanding Con's about the company, which might sound strange! This is my 5th company in my professional career, and this is my favorite by FAR. Management is young, but to that point, you also run into managers who are extremely receptive to change and work towards modernizing the way we operate so that our company as a whole is better, and more enjoyable for the employees here. I've... also read through some of these reviews and can pinpoint the authors with negative outlooks as specific people who have left the company throughout my tenure who wanted the world but were unwilling to work hard for what they wanted. Just like with customers leaving public reviews, people who are unhappy are more inclined to leave negative reviews for a business than happy customers - so I'd recommend as someone looking at this company that you take that into consideration. This company requires you to work hard, and if you take a lackadaisical approach to your job, you aren't going to slide by. And when you DO work hard, people notice.

I worked at FareHarbor full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Great Product. FareHarbor easily dominates the marketplace. It's really exciting to celebrate the non-stop wins with the entire team. - The company is filled with a great group of people who work their butts off to deliver an exceptional experience to clients. - This company will give a junior employee more responsibility and experience than most others would. If you hang around long enough you will most... certainly get a "Senior" or "Enterprise" title. - The Booking.com acquisition is extremely exciting. The founders will most likely exit within the next couple of years making way for experienced management to come in and run this company the right way.

    Cons

    - Your manager has most likely never worked outside of FareHarbor. They've risen through the ranks because they were lucky enough to be an early hire, regardless of their professional experience or acumen. - Flexible work options are not available. Management does not trust their employees enough to allow them to work from home or complete their work on their own time. The general assumption is that if you're not... at your desk you can't complete your work. - Below market salary. The executive leadership team believes that perks don't equal culture. While this is mostly true, they've somehow included a fair salary in the list of benefits that they won't extend to their employees. They would rather hire multiple entry-level employees instead of bringing in experienced thought leaders. - Inexperience at the management level is hurting the company. Employee's are regularly promoted to positions outside of their experience and quickly demoted again. "Senior" titles mean less and less once everyone has one. - Unprofessional relationships at the senior management level create an awkward working environment. - The commissions that the sales team receives are a closely guarded secret. The sales team is earning recurring commissions for deals that closed months ago while Support/AM/Onboarding teams are struggling to make a livable wage.

    Advice to Management

    - Pay your employees a fair salary or be prepared for a revolving door environment where your top performers are constantly leaving to find better opportunities (with fair compensation) elsewhere. - Hire experienced leaders to build your team. - Asking your employees to "DWIFT" is just another way of asking them to work excessive hours with free pizza and beer as a thank you. Work-Life balance is a real thing... that people value.

    Pros

The people. Most teams are built with groups of good and passionate people who have amazing work ethics. Everyone (your coworkers, not managers) is friendly and ready to help out when needed. We hang out outside of work and have fun at team events and Friday beer hours. The benefits are decent as well, free health insurance, good PTO, and affordable dental. The industry is cool too, but there are other, truly... professional travel companies located in Denver you could work at.

    Cons

The June 7, 2019 review sums it up pretty nicely but I'll add some other cons too as there are plenty. First up, micromanagement to the max. The managers will tell you they don’t micromanage but I do not think that word means what they think it means. Some of the managers are kind of like Stepford wives, they're so obedient to the company and their superiors, even when their superiors are wrong, and can change... department goals and tactics on a dime just because they were told to. Your manager will always be looking out for themselves, not you, and do whatever it takes to secure their position so they're liked by leadership. Like other not so perfect reviews have pointed out, some of the managers are dating (it’s OK though as they both got promotions to be on the same level to not break Booking’s dating policy) or promote people just because they’re friends and not because they should. You could be bad at your job or not respected by your team but if you tell management what they want to hear, do exactly what they say even if it’s unethical and laugh at all their jokes, you’ll be a director in no time. Which isn’t saying much - the job titles here are a joke, as are some of the people who hold high positions in the company. They have no idea how to run a company or their own teams. They lie to clients, other business partners, and employees. Enough said. Pay. The pay here is laughable but it’s so not funny how underpaid everyone is. Lots of employees live together as you couldn’t live alone on this salary. Good thing unlimited PTO went away, you can’t afford to go anywhere. And if you’re good at your job, you may get a 2% raise but then either told that it won’t happen now because of some decisions being made higher up or you have to check in with your boss every week because they forgot to take care of it or didn’t want to do it. I agree with another reviewer that nothing around here makes much sense. Logic and thinking long-term isn’t important around here. It’s a toxic and stressful environment. Questioning how management does certain things? No promotion or raises for you! Leave at a decent time after the work day is done? You’ll never move up or grow in your position. Having to do the job of your supervisor without the recognition or pay? That’s just another day in the fareharbor office. If you show any resistance they’ll threaten your career potential or criticize your work ethic. Fareharbor loves making sure they can track your every move and you better be at your desk every second of every day or you’ll get a talking to. Now that the Denver office is going over its capacity (better hope there’s never a fire…), people can work from home one day a week and they tell you it's a privilege and it can be taken away at any moment, but you're better off being available 24/7 from home than waiting 30 minutes to use one of the four stalls in the bathroom or waiting 15 minutes for the elevator, and way better than having your manager breathe down your neck. Not all the teams here are bad, and some offices are better than others. If you get in the right department, you might have a great experience here. But for the most part they just want employees who are ready and excited to drink the Kool Aid, and be underpaid for it.

    Advice to Management

Stop promoting people just to fill a role. Really take a look at some of the people you have in management roles as they do not belong there. There are quite a few insecure, unrealistic people on the leadership team who are not skilled in motivating or managing their employees. Teams could be so much more productive and happy if they felt like their managers trusted them and let them do their job. Crazy concept I... know. Compensate employees appropriately. You are not a startup anymore. You need to pay at least mid-market and provide real yearly raises for good performers. Reinvest in the people who got this company where it is. Hire more HR reps too, one or two people for a company this size is ridiculous. Find another office too that isn't a fire hazard or doesn't have employees harassed on their way in and out of work. Also please stop lying. Seriously. Stop.

I have been working at FareHarbor full-time

    Pros

Pay is great, but I'm in sales so it is whatever you make it! Management genuinely cares about both the professional and personal well being of the employees. We actually make an impact both for the clients and for our company! Culture is fantastic. These people are my Ohana. I get to be myself everyday. Great opportunities to move up and to relocate to amazing place and travel to sweeeeet places for client... visits. Management trusts their employees and really manage to the individual. New VP of sales is a rockstar and isn't afraid to change things up. She has implemented a lot of new initiatives since taking over the position in November 2018. I feel encouraged, respected, competent and have the support I need to be successful. Fast paced. Excellent work-life balance with top-notch benefits. I've met some of the most talented and brightest minds ever in my time at FareHarbor.

    Pros

    Beer every Friday after 3pm

    Cons

It's really is a revolving door, the first month I was there 3 left people, second month 4 people all from the account management team. I was told I was being let go, with no write ups or warning in my second month of working here. There was also no HR present when I was let go. The AM team is only 30 people.
