I worked at Fareway Food Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The managers tried to be as flexible as possible with our schedules to allow those with families to work around family schedules. Managers were easy to talk to and encouraged employees to give them ideas for improvement at the store.

    Cons

I seemed to be the only adult willing and able to work Saturday nights and so I seemed to work every Saturday night.
Also, it seemed that most all of the managers at our store and throughout corporate were male and almost all cashiers were female. While I didn't dislike my managers, it did seem that the company was quite male dominated and women were not encouraged to climb the corporate ladder.

I worked at Fareway Food Stores full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Never work on Sunday or holidays. Receive good raises based on performance.

    Cons

A lot of favoritism under the store manager I worked with, If you had a family member on the Board of Directors, You got special treatment and advancement opportunities, A lot of favoritism to employees getting hours scheduled for part-time.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes and work without blinders, I understand you have a big responsibility, but treat all employees fair. I still work in retail, now for the largest retail company in the world, and the benefits, culture, wages, opportunities, open door policies, are far better than the ones offered at your company.

I worked at Fareway Food Stores (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent work environment; enjoyed working with co-workers and customers. The hours were very flexible and easy to adjust to according to the needs of the employer and other employees. Benefits were available to full-time employees.

    Cons

I was not able to come to any negative conclusions regarding this business. They become family to you.

    Advice to Management

Management was amazing in all aspects. I could not give advice to anyone who accomplished the needs of the business as well as Fareway Foods had done.

I worked at Fareway Food Stores part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working at Fareway for the 2.5 years I was there. The people were always great to work with and the customers were great to talk to as well. While there was a decent amount of work it was not hard work.

    Cons

I felt that the pay for me could have been a little better but I definitely got a lot of hours and was able to quickly work my way into a position of trust with the manager and assistant manager

    Advice to Management

I would say the only advice I could give is take a little better care of your employees who are their and working a lot. If you have an employee who absolutely loves working for you and is willing to put in as many hours as you wanna give them then make sure to reward them for it
