I have been working at Farm Credit full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

GREAT company! It is rare to find a company where upper management cares about both its employees and its customers and Farm Credit of Florida is fortunate to have the current upper management team. Management is very open with employees about where the company is and where they want to go.
While management does treat employees well, it still demands high performance and holds employees very accountable for their actions.

    Cons

The only con that I can think of is that sometimes management tries to run a little too lean on skilled employees and that makes timely delivery to our customers very challenging.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing.

    Pros

Excellent benefits, great company. Good job groth opportunities.

    Cons

Terrible training, software wS extremely old and not user friendly. Must be part of the club for any help. Not understanding in with a death in your family.

    Advice to Management

Keep a closer eye on those you trust. When you leave so do your "trustworthy" employees.

I have been working at Farm Credit full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent management team who has turned the company around. There were a lot of problems during the merger but a new management team came in at the beginning of 2013 and I am glad I stuck around. I couldn't be happier.

    Cons

You have to be able to deal with changes. There have been lots of changes in structure and roles but they have all been for the better.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing. Employees are much more engaged now than they were 4 years ago.

    Pros

The association does a very good job of incorporating its summer interns into key pieces of the business's operation. We were given the opportunity to see many aspects of the company that an intern might not normally expect to see.

    Cons

Very few cons to the job. It can be a tough transition from working on a farm to working inside everyday, but there are many opportunities to get out of the office.

I have been working at Farm Credit full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great family environment, federal holidays, great benefits, multiple locations, out of office meetings, variety, work hard play hard philosophy

    Cons

Struggle to challenge employees, lack of retention of good, dedicated employees. No mid-tier opportunities for growth.

    Advice to Management

Many of the home office jobs can be done out in the field offices, be flexible. Don't let your managers get tied up in the feelings, take the emotion out of it.

Talk to the team. Make them understand why you're doing things, why there are changes being made. Help them feel needed.
