I worked at Farm Fresh Supermarkets part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Your immediate coworkers are your lifeline and MOST are helpful when it counts.
No longer a 24-hour operation - stores close at midnight.

    Cons

Everyone - and I mean EVERYONE - is initially hired as part-time even if you indicate full-time on your application. Promotions are slow and erratic at best (at least at the store I was in). Most stores are understaffed and HR is difficult to contact most of the time.

    Advice to Management

Place an HR rep at every store or at least develop a way to make them a bit more accessible.

This is for the corporate officials specifically:

Please either increase the switch-around period for Store Directors or eliminate it entirely. the constant changing of directors makes it next to impossible for stores to grow - especially the under-performing ones.

I worked at Farm Fresh Supermarkets part-time

    Pros

Time can fly fast when you have continuous work back and forth, and he benefits with being an employee from getting store product discounts.

    Cons

Depending on the situation, it does go down the drain every now and then. From the First-of-the-Month Sale to the slow nights, the messes made in the isles and in the restroom, it depends on how everything has been going for the day.

    Advice to Management

Time management, team communication, train those who don't know, and give customer service from walking around the store.

I worked at Farm Fresh Supermarkets part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

flexible schedule and not too demanding. Easy to learn the ropes of checking customers out and learning the codes

    Cons

Terrible pay. Front end managers could treat their employees better. Calling out when actually having an emergency, received harsh backlash...manager would just hang up the phone without saying bye. Resulted in receiving a bad schedule if you called out. Even if you put it in the request book.

    Advice to Management

hire better front end managers/ones that value their employees

I have been working at Farm Fresh Supermarkets part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Most of the employees are friendly and pleasant

    Cons

    -Raises are few in-between
-You will only get a raise if you are 100% perfect at your job
-When you do get one, it's usually about 7 cents.
-Do not give their evaluations on time, or simply will not even bother to tell you about them
-Cutting everyone's hours just to hire more people that are part time
-Has a constant problem with managers stealing and sometimes getting caught
-Several managers at my store are known to be womanizers and will harass young women they know wont say anything
-Same people calling out everyday and nothing being done about it when other people have to fall for them

    Advice to Management

    -Hire more full time employees
    -Do background checks
    -Raise salaries of faithful employees
-Stop cutting hours of long time employees!

Do something drastic, or this company will be under in 5 years minimum!
    Lower your prices!
All the rich people are going to Whole Foods, and all the poor people are going to Food Lion. What are you gonna do about it? Treating your employees like this isn't helping.

    Pros

The good thing about Farm Fresh is that they will not deny you employment do to having criminal background. Of course, it depends on the crime so every case is different.

    Cons

On my first day of work I was thrown into it without being trained at all. Also, the pay was never discussed and when I did find out what I was making I had already worked 3 days. They do not pay good at all. One of the lowest that I have seen.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to train your employees.

you can meet good people, customers can be good friends also.

    Cons

hard, hard work, long hours, work people to where their body is painful. And A lot of upper managers that treat people bad.

People have feeling and limits, everyone is different When you treat people bad they will not do anything for you. When you treat a person with kindness , respect, and acceptance to who they are, They will enjoy being around you, they will want to work for you, They will give the best customer service. Try It sometime.
