    Pros

Great team work between the the MOST of the sales reps. Most the guys in the trenches had your back and would work with you.

    Cons

Everything else. Worst company i ever worked for. Pay was horrible. You worked your butt off. Long hours, normally 12 plus hours a day to make 38-40k a year. Managment treated you like dirt. Would keep you at the wharehouse on fridays 2-3 hours waiting on a meeting just to tell you there was no meeting. Expected you to answer your phone and work on the weekends. The idea of eating a bullet sounded better than waking up and going to work most days.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees a decent salary. Treat them with respect and realize without them humping it every day, you wouldnt have your cushy office jobband salary.

I worked at Farmer Bros. full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great opportunity to be out in the field with customers and fine tune your selling skills. Company provided a great training program that allowed anyone off fresh off the boat to have a solid knowledge base of products and services. Great benefits also!

    Cons

To much old thinking that at more times than none didn't allow the company to grow and attract new talent. To many Chiefs at all levels that wouldn't except fresh ideas. Being in the trenches, advancement didn't come all that easy because outside candidates that had a higher title with less knowledge of the business were gaining those positions. Also there was a high school mentality of a boys club where to get promoted you have to know someone and not necessarily have merit or skills.

    Advice to Management

Please don't forget the people in the trenches making the money. For far to long the bean counters have been running the company and when times got tough, we were always the first to go. At some point you can't cut anymore sales positions and you have to have a come to Jesus meeting with the fact that all problems can't be fixed at the bottom. Employees matter and eventually we will start to leave and move on to better things. GET IT TOGETHER!
