I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

-30 days PTO once you’ve been there 10 or more years. -6% 401k match plus 4% just given to you for 401K. No one can beat that. I put 10% of my pay into 401k and the match plus the given makes that 20% -Decently flexible work schedule

    Cons

-Zero growth path in claims outside of a few areas like Arizona, California, Grand Rapids MI, Kansas etc. If you aren’t in one of those people places plan to spend a whole career in the same job. -Mentality of be happy or else -Perks have steady disappeared over the last decade or so -High level management doesn’t seem to care about the employee and the trickle down of that isn’t good.

I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Great 401k match, other benefits average

    Cons

Too much nepotism. Advancement based on political skills rather than ability to lead or even knowledge of the business. Very little practical coaching or mentoring if you are looking to get ahead, just vague cliches about "we promote the best", even though that definition changes depending on the month and who they want to promote.

I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There really isnt anything pro about this place except for the 401k and benefits.

    Cons

Absolutely the worst place I've ever worked for. Management has no clue what they are doing. The office has an a very high turn over. They don't care about it's employees. God forbid if you actually take your breaks and manage to do your job well, management doesn't like that. Office morale is extremely low. Management likes to have the office run like a sweatshop, heads down, keep to yourself, work, and don't see the light of day until your shift is done.

I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Competitive salary and benefits. Your coworkers are intelligent, hard working, good people. No experience necessary. Good way to get into the insurance industry.

    Cons

The turnover rate is outrageous. On one team I saw 10 people disappear over the course of 18 months. 5 were fired, 3 quit and 2 transferred. The workload is so ridiculous that most people either drown or burnout. People get fired or quit left and right. It's also hard to get time off or have a flexible schedule. Do yourself a favor and get a job some place else. This was the worst workplace experience I have ever had.

Benefits? Every year you get reviewed for 'salary considerations' depending on your 'opportunities' Finally interested in technology just happens to be always a step behind the real deal.

    Cons
