    Pros

    None, there used to be

    Cons

Cutting commissions, for both home and auto, while increasing rates. Farmers is owned by Zurich who is raping the company at the expense of the employees. Farmers like to lead with agents are owners, however they can and will terminate your appointment and you will have no recourse to sue them for wrongful termination . Medical dental program sucks

    Advice to Management

    screw yourself

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The pros at this job for me are: Ability to work from home, annual bonus, 401(k) match, health insurance benefits.

    Cons

Salary does not seem competitive. They make major changes in the way that we handle claims every couple of years.

I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

With the hire of an engaged and thought provoking young CIO, both new and long tenured employees are excited to be in IT. The company is seeing the value of technology and are make the right investments.

    Cons

Pace of change still a challenge but there are signs of things picking up. Changes in pension plan offset by a better 401k plan so there was a tradeoff.

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Used to value their sales force, but no longer. No calls, little opportunity to make a decent living, poor family and personal values

    Cons

Used to be great, but they no longer care about their inside sales team. Now we are truly just a number waiting in line to be let go or quit.

High camaraderie and great people to work with. There is a good feeling of family here.

    Cons

    Strict schedule adherence-in some depts
Mandatory shift bids- in some depts
Some times current, qualified employees, are over looked for higher positions.

    Advice to Management

Provide more opportunities for in house promotions

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Great company, great benefits; good work environment; great that they allow some work at home options; good that they promote from within;

    Cons

should be paid more for the work done; don't like old fashioned performance ratings/year end appraisals; need to be more aggressive on adopting new technology; need to allow more work at home and more work life balance consideration; sometimes it feels like the company is a bit old fashioned with their outlook on dress code and how the office is set up in cubicles.

    Advice to Management

Keep up with the new trends in work culture, because the millennial's are going to be leaving our company if we don't figure this out.
