I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Work hard and there will be opportunities. Plenty of opportunities if you live near a larger office. Many people make a career here.

    Cons

The work is stressful at times but it is good to be busy. This is a large company so you have to toot your own horn at times for recognition

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time

    Pros

Great 401k plan. Will be 10℅ dollar to dollar in 2018. Good vacation. Not too many holidays. Work from home opportunity.

    Cons

Not a very dynamic work environment compared to other companies. Not too many social events. Boring and depressing. Poor medical insurance benefits.

I have been working at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I work at a district office so we get to do a lot of lunches and prizes for the agents which is exciting. I work with great people and meet people everyday.

    Cons

Insurance is boring and people can be mean but this is the same with many jobs. No benefits is a definite negative!

    Advice to Management

If your going to work for an insurance company then employees should get health benefits!

I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    You are your own boss.
No one will tell you how to run things.
    Get to meet new people.

    Cons

    Large overhead.
You need to have 2 years salary saved up before trying this. Unless you know a lot of people to solicit you won't make enough to put back into the business to buy more leads. Have the money set aside and don't believe anyone that tells you you don't need it.

    Advice to Management

Let everyone know up front that they won't make any money the first year but will have to put it all back into their agency.

I worked at Farmers Insurance Group full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, including a large pool of PTO usable from the beginning of the year and which would carry over (up to a certain amount) and would increase every 5 years. Employers who will listen to those working for them, and were willing to change and adapt to make the environment better.

    Cons

Some legacy systems that still haven't been integrated in with current technology.
PTO and sick leave is used from the same pool, and if too many have already taken off on a day you need, it's counted as unexcused.
Action plans, once set, are on record forever -- if issue is corrected, you can still face consequences the next time the issue occurs even if years down the line (does not reset to the first warning).
