    Pros

Free environment, you can assume and will be supported for your personal projects to find a way to develop the company. Great coworkers and management feedback,

    Cons

Don't have a clear career plan.

    Advice to Management

Has to be more updated about real facts that are moving the company and has to stop to being sexist as promotion bases.

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Farstad Shipping full-time

    Pros

Quality ships although not the cream of offshore as they would have you believe.

    Cons

Have a very specific offshore support roll. With the world wide down turn in offshore industry; add companies recent build expansion and capital outlay they are fighting to survive. Always very vendictive senior management team never listen to sea going staffs concerns. Computer Safety and ISM maintence programs very very poor. Scapegoat mentality.

    Advice to Management

Grow up and take all your vision statements seriously. Until you do do not expect you staff to act on them.

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Farstad Shipping full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

New vessels, decent living conditions. Training courses opportunities. No more pros that I can offer to mention in the current environment.

    Cons

Terrible quality of personnel in the drive to expand in the 2010's. The paperwork is over the top and management have a history of persecuting colloquially termed (pineapple fitting). They promote incompetent people and still have issues with alcohol abuse on their vessels even after several incidents. This is now reflecting in their poor financial performance.

    Advice to Management

Have a clean out of your dead wood.

  6. "An appalling company to work for"

    Pros

    Farstad has comprehensive workplace policies.

    Cons

Farstad uses its policies to victimise employees. Farstad was found to have seriously breached its own workplace policies in a recent Federal Court case: Romero v Farstad Shipping.

    Advice to Management

    Act ethically towards employees.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Farstad Shipping full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company wants to have the best reputation in offshore. Therefore they invest in crew, vessels and safety. Crew is taken serious, and has benefits you will not find in other companies. There is sufficient internet, phone, TV and training facilities on board.
Company arranged holiday houses for everyone, on which every crew member could sign in, to pass a week holiday., all for free.
Office people in most cases understand very well what is needed for the crew to run the vessel.
Although there is still too much administration, it is less than in most other companies.

    Cons

    Salary is average.
Administration should be reduced, what can be done in the office should be done in the office.
Farstad Aberdeen had only PSV and no other type of vessels available, so no variety in job.

    Advice to Management

    Proceed this way.
Salary should be raised a bit to compete with other companies.
Look in to administration for vessels and see where it can be reduced or take over by office.

Good work enviroment, clean ships, professional seastaff

    Cons

Better communication between ships and office
