I have been working at Fastenal full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    Flexible hours is about it.

    Cons

They don't compensate employees well. They will find a reason to fire you if you have any complaints. The commission structure is pretty messed up; despite exceeding store goals in sales, the commission doesn't go up.

    Advice to Management

Think more about your employees and how you'd feel in their shoes over how much you can generate for the corporate offices.

I have been working at Fastenal part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible hours, and a temperature regulated environment

    Cons

It is a misogynistic work environment including the management. The pay is not competitive to working in retail and once you reach $12 you have reached the pay cap. Fastenal also continually preaches that they promote from within. This has not been the case based on my experiences. Additionally, the building I am in is not very accessible for people with physical disabilities. If someone is in a wheel chair or... has corrective crutches they would struggle to work there.

    Advice to Management

Pay your workers more competitively and create more full time positions. Also stop hiring men that have antiquated ideas of how to interact with women. Additionally make the building ADA compliant.
