I worked at Fastenal full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

little to no micro management, if you do your job no one bothers you. plenty of help provided if needed through industry specific specialists, DM, other branches/onsites. If you ask for support from co workers, it will be given. just like any job you get what you put in.

    Cons

very corporate atmosphere and high employee turnover, if the right team is around you, you can be very successful. get ready to work long hours.

    Advice to Management

Would love to see anyone above the DM role on that show "undercover boss". The majority of DM/branches/onsites work long hours and do not get much respect from corporate. I saw good hard working employees quit because of the long hours. Listen to your employees do not just send out emails with sales numbers and expect the numbers to magically get better, stop being so black and white
