I have been working at Fayetteville State University full-time

    Pros

Depending on who and what department you work for, your experience at the University can be great. The possibility to be exposed to a diverse group of people and the network possibilities are good again depending on what department you work for.

    Cons

Most jobs are given out according to who you know, not necessarily based on experience and knowledge. Although you may qualified for a particular position if the right person gets wind of your candidacy for the position and they are not particularly fond of you, you can count yourself out. Aside from that knowledge of policies, procedures and the like are not seamless across campus or department for that matter.

I have been working at Fayetteville State University full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Some great people work there, the location is not far from home, the work is not extremely hard, good benefits compared with some other places.

    Cons

Some departments are short staffed and getting someone from those departments to help you if you have a question is hard. Sometimes no one answers the phones. People are tired from working their own jobs and the jobs of people who have left.
