I have been working at Feather River Hospital full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fabulous atmosphere with positive staff. Co-workers are more family than staff.

    Cons

This is a non-profit Hospital therefore wages are lower than competition scales. The Christian foundation is worth the sacrifice

    Advice to Management

Return to employees being Names and not Numbers. We are a small community and there ARE exceptions to some rules as we are an exception to the big city Hospitals. This is losing it's grip lately. There are some individuals in management positions who were "Settled for" rather than seek the more qualified. Morale is waning lately. We may be the only game in town but Enloe is just another 20 minutes for some and Enloe is winning our best!

I worked at Feather River Hospital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Loved my coworkers, paid vacation time was good, supervisors did a good job. Pay wasn't very competitive.

    Cons

Wages are much better at enloe. When I worked there, the hospital was short staffed so I worked a lot of extra hours. Not necessarily a bad thing though

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Feather River Hospital part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Collegial, Pleasant, good pay, flexible hours,

    Cons

Corporate management very out of touch with modern healthcare.
Disastrous corporate decision to go system wide with poor EMR reducing efficiently by at least 10% and increasing frustration with its use by 300%.
    Looking for other employment.

    Advice to Management

Lear about the delivery of healthcare. Have a practicing primary care physician chosen by peers on your corporate executive committee with some type of veto power before you go bankrupt as a system.

Good people, good pay, corporate management very out of touch with healthcare deliver. IT not aware of healthcare practice.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Feather River Hospital full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

A chance for introduction into the acute care transcription field in this 101 bed hospital.

    Cons

Less opportunity to grow outside the initial H&P and consultations along with radiology.

    Advice to Management

No longer a department at FRH, little to be said because of elimination of department..

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Feather River Hospital full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Rural community with friendly employees.

    Cons

The healthcare reform is making the hospital make some significant changes, some of which have made working here less intriguing. The management is much more focused on the bottom line, then how they treat their employees. I've noticed over time how the employee satisfaction has decreased because of the many restrictions due to financial hardship. I hope they don't lose sight of theri committment to employees during this struggle to stay financially viable.

    Advice to Management

Remember how hard it is to improve moral, and avoid decreasing it anymore.
