I worked at FedEx Freight West full-time

    Pros

Quite a few hours availble to work, always busy.

    Cons

Each hub appears to operate by their own set of rules and procedures, not the policies and procedures set forth by Fedex Corporate. They do not follow safety procedures in regards to employees working in 120 degree AZ weather even though there are poaters hung up all over the place. If you are an employee that has worked with Fedex for a long period of time, the management team will try to figure how to harrass you until you leave so they can bring in someone they know for lesx money. This company used to be a great company to work for, however it has gone downhill in the last few years. It isnt even in the top 10 companies to work for anymore.

    Advice to Management

Start implementing Policy & Procedure training for all of yoyr hub managers and supervisors so every hub is doing things the Fedex way, not the its my way or the highway mentality. Train your management teams on sensitivity, not mentality of I am a Manager and I know it all because I have witnessed several instances that could resulted in a lawsuit. Perform audits at each hub to make sure management is following all procedures whether it is in regards to uniforms, equipment, payroll etc. Guarantee uf ypu run audits on each hubs documentation and making sure they are following all procedures, Fedex Corporate will be in for a very rude awakening, and you will realuze why there is such a high turn over rate

I have been working at FedEx Freight West part-time

    Pros

FedEx is a great company to work for. They offer competitive pay, flexible hours for school, and Tuition reimbursement. GO APPLY

    Cons

Moving up within the company depends on how well you can get along with the managers. Favoritism is definitely apparent on the dock.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to stop being so bias to their workers. People should be rated based on experience and what strengths they have. Not about how much they can suck up to them.

    Pros

great benefits, room for growth and opportunities, managerial staff very helping and willing to improve your skills. pay was above average.

    Cons

the hours you worked varied from day to day. there was not a set schedule. sometimes the payroll checks were late being delivered,
