I have been working at FedEx Ground part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    • Great Pay • Obligatory Good Benefits • Easy to move up if you work hard enough(took me 9 months)

    Cons

Part Time so I can only get 29-32 hours • Will be stressful until you get a routine and a plan going

    Advice to Management

Equipment sucks, radios, MC55’s, and the scanners are pretty bad. Computers painfully slow too.

I worked at FedEx Ground part-time for less than a year

    Pros

benefits for part time, large company located everywhere, weekly pay

    Cons

shifts change, no formal training for job, some part time positions may not get many hours weekly, lots of inexperienced managers

    Advice to Management

develop a formal, continuous, and more personal training course for managers that includes, at a minimum: conflict resolution, employee evaluation, employee disciplinary actions, organization, prioritization, defining and assigning tasks, communicating and evaluating expectation, managing employee hours

I worked at FedEx Ground part-time for less than a year

    Pros

The Job is simple, and you know what to expect everyday when you walk into the warehouse, and because of this there is some sense of stability and lack of stress. You get to move around and get excercise because the work is physically demanding. Shifts are usually only 4 hours

    Cons

The work is so highly optimized and they will work you to the bone. A large majority of employees work part-time because the physical and mental committment to go full time is too much. Fedex Ground wants part-time workers because they do not want to pay for pricey health insurance ect. Therefore they make full-time work so miserable that most people choose not to do it. Having a lot of part-time workers is more... efficient, and they can push these workers to work harder. You may experience pain and health problems as a result of this job. You may even get injured. I'm sure there have been many of employees who dissapeer from this job -either they get hooked on pain meds, or they take their own life. When people are treated this poorly, and are this low on totem-pole, their likelihood of an untimely death is much more likely. This job rewards the shareholders of fedex, not the workers. If you take this job, please be on the lookout for another one. Fedex is close to being a state-sponsored enterprise. They received a $2.4 billion dollar contract from the Department of Defense. They paid no taxes in 2018 and sacved a couple more Billion. Yet still many of their workers are living on wellfare, medicaid and foodstamps.

    Advice to Management

Use the $1billion in tax savings, and millions of dollars in federal grant money, to convert part-time workers into full time employees. The majority of your part-time workers do not want to work part-time, but are forced to do so.

I have been working at FedEx Ground part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

benefits are good and hours would be good if complied with

    Cons

Young inexperienced managers, company does not spend money to buy work equipment to complete job there is often scanners that don't work and batteries that are not charged for next shift but they want the work done , for part time want you to work longer than your shift and tell you only about it 30 min. to an hour before your shift ends

Spend money on equipment to get the work flow you want

I have been working at FedEx Ground part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good hourly pay, management treats you with respect, shifts go by fast and the work gets you in good shape. There seems to be opportunities for advancement, though I haven't explored it yet.

    Cons

My biggest gripe is the hours are inconsistent. If part-time, you'll be lucky to work more than 15 hours per week. There are no guaranteed hours and some days you might get sent home after less than an hour if things are slow. If you work full-time, it means you work two 4 hour shifts, but the shifts never actually go 4 hours except in the busy holiday season. So you may come in and work only two hours on your first... shift, but then have to wait around an hour or two for your next shift to start, and then only work two more hours. It kind of sucks. The work can be pretty brutal and if you get a little injury, it can be hard to work and hard to heal up properly without taking time off.

    Advice to Management

Your employees don't get enough hours. You can't really control a lack of sales, but you can make sure you're not overstaffed. You probably like being overstaffed, because that way you don't have to worry about having all your shifts covered, but it cuts your employees incomes.
