I worked at FedEx Office full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great learning experience. The job prepares you for higher paying job opportunities and it is a great way to learn printing and pre-flighting files. The job is great for learning finishing equipment and printers and other devices without any experience. They pretty much will give any reasonable person a chance with no experience. Teaches you how to multi-task better and work well under pressure and with deadlines. There is also lots of opportunities to move up in the company. The sky is really the limit with this corporation.

    Cons

They don't pay very well to start off with and the 24 hour locations can get scary at night due to loiterers and the homeless (this is a fact). Most are just seeking shelter but management will make you walk up and ask them to leave. Luckily the local police dept was across the street in case anything got out of hand. Still a great place to learn some of the print industry if you really take the time to absorb everything.

    Advice to Management

At my store we needed some better hands-on training and a manager that was more understanding and not so snappy.

I worked at FedEx Office part-time

    Pros

    Flexible hours.
Willing to let you move up if you want to.

    Cons

I used to love working here, but after shifts in management in my district, I can't get out fast enough.
Management has no idea how to do anything. They implement all these new procedures that do nothing but irritate the customers, then have you tell the customers it's easier for them when they know it's not. In my district, the managers have a sheet they fill out as managers listen to your transactions. They write down exactly what you say and then recap with you after.

    Advice to Management

When your team members and CUSTOMERS ESPECIALLY, tell you something is not working out...LISTEN!!!!

    Pros

It's a very diverse environment with a lot of opportunity to grow. Compensation is relatively fair. Very active and fun place to work.

    Cons

Customers can be very demanding and a tier 1 store can add a lot of stress. If you move to a lead their will be a lot of dependence on you.

    Advice to Management

    Properly acknowledge and compensate employees.
