I worked at FedEx Office full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Plenty of flexibility when I was there and was lucky enough to have managers that were helpful reaching your goals. Most customers were nice and coworkers were cool. Highly recommend as a starter position.

    Cons

The hours can be wonky and you can be by yourself for long periods of time with irate customers.

    Pros

    401k match of 5%

    Cons

Outside hires come in at higher pay rates than existing employees (Loyalty is not rewarded)
Yearly pay increases average 1-2% (and 2 years we took pay cuts)

    Advice to Management

Focus more on developing and paying your existing Team Members.

    Pros

The company allows you to grow. Benefits are great for an entry level job.

    Cons

Current Managment structure does not allow you to grow and reach your full potential.

    Advice to Management

All the employees to grow. The employees are not pawns and shouldn't be treated like numbers

I have been working at FedEx Office full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits overall are great. Large corporate environment means overall stability, room to move professionally within the organization. Good managers offer GREAT support, training. If you like a fast paced job, this one will give you the adrenelin buzz you desire. You can come in and learn the print business quickly. Most of the time, employees are truly appreciated.

    Cons

Things are ALWAYS changing. As in, far greater changes, and with far greater speed than one normally expects. Management always has a 'flavor of the day', can be an extremely stressful environment. Turnover can be high if you have a bad manager. Fast pace can be extremely stressful, and WAY TOO MANY MEASUREMENT METRICS.

    Advice to Management

Pick a theme, and stick with it. Eliminating Kinkos was great for the FedEx Brand, but you threw away a perfect opportunity to co-brand FedEx Kinkos and pull the best from both - knowing you are trying to capture the corporate print spend as well as the retail print spend, you need both. Upper management needs to spend more time in stores, as an undercover boss -- to see what really is going on, what the stresses are really like. Like Undercover Boss, my guess is a lot of upper management wouldn't be able to do the job.

I worked at FedEx Office full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, co-workers make it a team environment, Fast paced and you get an excellent relationship with customers

    Cons

Lack of pay, everything is minimum wage and the raises are minimal every year. Corporate can be a bit of a pain and they don't really train the managers correctly.

    Advice to Management

Ask the district to give better yearly raises, especially to your long term employees. Stop forcing things such as "this employee must get this many surveys" its not that type of environment. You're shipping materials for a customer not selling them electronics at a store. Update systems more often.
Corporate like any other corporation needs to focus more on their employees because realistically the retail employees, shipping employees and management are what drives the companies success and they need better recognition.
