    Loved working here but

    Pros

Great benefits. If you worked in the right units, it really felt like you were making a difference in the world.

    Cons

Loved working here but after 11yrs of working, i finally got to a gs 13 and living in northern va, you need to make a lot more money to be able to live here comfortably. Also, there was no paid maternity leave and we lost our first baby so it wasn't considered maternity leave even though I gave birth and then i got pregnant soon after and was put on bed rest and essentially ran out of all leave and was asked to return or quit. I quit because i didn't have a choice. The fbi, like any other govt agency, didn't really care for new moms and didn't make it easy for us after giving birth. Trying to get anything approved had to go through tons of channels and it was very hard to change the views of FBI employees. It was very hard to bring them to use new technology vs older methods.
