I worked at Federated Insurance (Canada) full-time

    Pros

Federated has an amazing caring culture that I have not seen in any other organization. The is a great deal of respect and integrity among the staff. Staff are committed to doing a great job.

    Cons

Northbridge culture and integration is having a negative impact on the culture. Federated does however need to think about automation to simplify current processes as they are very manual and very labour intensive. Staff struggle with the amount of work.

I have been working at Federated Insurance (Canada) (More than a year)

    Pros

The company has a great culture - good collaboration between departments. Benefits are very good and work life balance is also very good.

    Cons

The relationship with Northbridge can be trying at times. Seems like an us vs them mentality in some situations. Overall, still a great place to work.

    Advice to Management

Integration of operations and systems will work to a certain point. There are differences within the companies within the NB group that need to be recognized and maintained. The new systems project seems to be leading us down the path to a one size fits all companies approach. Not the right approach in my view.
