I have been working at Fedex Express full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

One of the few areas where you can get full time work with generally less package handling and quite a bit less screaming than in most other areas.

    Cons

The biggest con is very limited scheduling choices. To go from permanent part time in an input to this full time position required the trashing of my work, life balance as my weekend off is now Saturdays and Mondays, with me being forced, and I do mean forced to work Sundays, destroying my only real opportunity to spend quality time with both my wife and daughter on a regular basis by going to Church with them on Sunday mornings. While it is almost impossible to get even the guaranteed 35 hours pay, without working longer hours on Sunday, while to get more you must work a six day work week and or work additional shifts.

    Advice to Management

In the good old days of pensions and real P-S-P, Federal Express bragged about its retention records. Today our company is about 6,000 people short of minimum staffing requirements. For about ten years our company has been following the psp principal of Profits first-Service second if this does not conflict with number UNO-and then-maybe People last of all, if they can be squeezed in.
