I worked at Feed the Children full-time

    Pros

Growth opportunities, passionate coworkers, new program initiatives

    Cons

High leadership turnover has caused lack of strategic direction, some executive leaders have been there a long time and are reluctant to positive change

    Advice to Management

Set strategic direction and stick to it, don't keep the organization top-heavy, be open to new styles of management

I have been working at Feed the Children full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flextime, Easter, Thanksgiving Friday and Christmas Eve off in addition to the usual holidays. At the end of each day you know you've help your fellow man, even though inefficienties due to fear.

    Cons

Micro managed from the top down. Culture of fear and no one, even C level's are empowered by CEO Travis Arnold to make even a simple decision. Very old school and therefore losing a lot of great talent. Chairman of the Board needs to step down, a man with a good heart but no creditials and hasn't raised any funds. Rebuild a Board of fundraisers.. How does a CEO have time to check all mid and upper level staff calendars?

    Advice to Management

Provide leadership not management. Let managers manage. Create a culture of trust verses fear. Without trust you will go no where.

    No opinion of CEO

I have been working at Feed the Children full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Company has a great team of mid-level employees and below. Truly makes it worthwhile to work here. Strong mission-minded team.

    Cons

Upper management seems out of touch with day to day operations at times. Start many tasks and projects without proper strategy.

    Advice to Management

Continue to hire competent staff. Then empower them to do their job within the skillset they are equipped to do so.

I worked at Feed the Children full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Helping feed needy children who don't have much, if anything. The pay isn't great, but it's not horrible either. It's a good place.

    Cons

Calling Customer Service Reps "CEO's" (Customer Experience Owners). SO stupid! I don't really know much else to say on the negative side.

    Advice to Management

No advice to give at this time. My manager and supervisor were both pretty awesome. Who they were changed a few times, but whoever stepped into the role did a good job generally speaking.
