Pros
There's no good reason to work here. I guess if you enjoy being hurt, bullied, diminished, insulted and taken advantage of, this is the right place for you.
Cons
The positive reviews are laughably transparent. This is a toxic environment led by a bully. Someone mentioned a Napoleon complex in another review... yeah. Sadly, the people here who do the lion's share of actual good work are the least recognized. The good people on the roster are afraid to speak up for, or come to the defense of others. There are few growth opportunities. Anyone with tenure here has been... conditioned to receive or dole out abuse. To say that taking a job here would be "a step backward" insults the entire concept of a setback. Don't do this to yourself.

Pros
Free gym, lunch, on occasion some good snack, stock options, 401k match, travel to Portugal, and the view of the San Mateo from the 9th floor.
Cons
Staying at this company for 2+ years really has hurt my soul, but I wanted to stick it out hoping for a turnaround ship. Where do I even begin...? You can smell the favoritism in the air, witness multiple HR violations all the way from the top, and people in the office being belittled and verbally abused by the executives who act like children on a daily basis. If you WFH, be expected to be hounded by the office... spies asking where you were as if they were your boss. This company has suffered a high turnover rate that the management team tries to downplay. It seems like this company is also trying to turn around the ship from a cultural perspective with sad attempts to do cultural potlucks, wine downs, and company outings - its a little too late, they've already lost good employees due to culture. The HR has turned around 3xs in a span of a year and a half, so that says a lot about the Ops team already. Lastly, dont expect to get a promotion if you are here for 1,2, or 3 years if you are not a favorite. Even if your direct manager thinks you deserve one, it needs to pass through to the top, which will highly be unlikely even if you got high marks on your previous reviews.

Hire a better facilities team who is present and can actually fulfill the job or get up to answer the door - their role is the face of the company and the first people they meet. I've had plenty of interviewees tell me that the first person they met in person from Feedzai was an unpleasant exchange. Also, stop taking advice from fresh college grads to run the company, and stop planting reviews to hide the bad ones.... The money you pay, won't hide the disgust and the truth.

Pros
I was going to say the people but I retract that statement. No pros.
Cons
I am on my hands and knees *begging* anyone reading this to not accept a job here. Run for the hills. This place underpays their technical roles (even though technical people are the backbone of this company) and claims to be competitive. There is no point in being here. Please, run away. For your sanity and well-being: this place isn't worth your time. There is no reason to lie about this. I am telling you to make... a run for it and do not look back.

Neutral OutlookNo opinion of CEOI worked at Feedzai full-time for more than a year
Pros
There are so many hard working and energetic people who have bought into a mission that the CEO believes in.
Cons
Micromanaging group with Napoleon style leadership traits that are never checked. To the ones considering joining, accept the risks of what all others have wrote about this company on the cons and believe them.
Advice to Management
Sell the company to people who understand how to run an organization.

I have been working at Feedzai full-time
Pros
The company is growing a lot.
Cons
Management will demand you work overtime (late nights and weekends). Salary and bonus are average but if you take into consideration how demanding and stressful the company is, it's not worth it. There are a lot of other companies that pay as much or better that don't demand crazy overtime. It's part of the culture of the company, you are expected to work like crazy. Most people stay only 1 year.

Pros
Compensation is fair. Insurance is Cigna. 401K matching after 6 months. Rewards and recognition program is okay but there is still a fair amount of subjectivity. If you’re in San Mateo, you’ll have 2 choices for free lunch. Most of the time snacks are stocked and the coffee machine works. Occasionally there will be an off site dinner or event held for team building. Some teams meet once or twice a year in Portugal..., so they might fly you out for a week or so. If you’re liked by management or hold a director level title, you can stay longer and actually see more than just the airport, office and hotel. At times Feedzai is a fun place to work, with many intelligent peers who have a passion for data science, AI and stopping fraud. Leadership isn’t all bad and will try and make some improvements from time to time.
Show MoreCons
Often times, the improvements management makes are knee jerk reactions to someone leaving and are too little, too late. Part of the reason compensation is competitive is because they don’t give equity to anyone lower than director. They’ve been known to term people before the one year mark just so they don’t vest. Over the past year, at least 23 people have left Feedzai in the US alone. Some were very talented... and bright but lack of retention and some of the issues listed here led them elsewhere. Most in the US have been on for less than one year. The veterans of the company get burned out helping out the new people and some of the new hires leave as a result of poor onboarding. IT is completely remote, so good luck getting all your tools and systems up and running. The office manager can’t help you! Health insurance premium is very high and if you have a family, kiss some of that competitive comp good bye. Free lunch is nice but if you bring your own from home because you don’t like the cafe food or eat club choices, you can not use your lunch allowance on a $5 coffee. Finance will have HR confront you about it as if it was $500. at a day spa. If you expense things like your phone bill, they’ll make a big deal about the amount you spend or plan you have. No commuter reimbursement. No work from home policy. You are expected to warm that seat M-F without fail. Working from home is allowed, just on the weekends or provided you have a valid reason every time. Little to no ramp up time and on-boarding is a joke. Be ready to use your personal lap top to present to the most disgruntled customer, your first day on the job. If you’re in sales, be ready for the roller coaster ride of justifying your existence and verbal abuse from the top. Leave your self respect and dignity at home as it will be taken from you. If you’re in marketing or ops get ready for new projects that take priority over the one you started yesterday and the day before that. They’re all a priority until they’re not. Lack of advancement opportunities. You’re going to come work at Feedzai in the role you were hired for. The role that you want to grow into will be filled by someone else that will be far more qualified than you. Your career goals don’t matter unless of course you’re willing to forgo a pay increase, then maybe they’ll consider you.

Turnover and poor decisions are amplifying challenging conditions in this space. Drop the egos, stop with the theatrics and take a long look in the mirror. If you’re going to hit your numbers and fetch a hefty price tag (or IPO), it’s time to dedicate yourself to employee happiness. Only then will they make your customers happy, align with your goals and execute the strategy.

Pros
This is a long review, but I guarantee it will be worth your time. One thing I can say is that the Sr. Leadership hires smart people, but this is all done to hide the fact that they don’t have any idea what they are doing. Some might say this is a smart tactic but what eventually happens is that those intelligent people soon realize that they are just a pawn in the game of chess which ultimately forces them to... leave. If you know anything about chess, a pawn can be promoted to become any other piece (typically a queen) if it reaches the opponent's end of the board. But for those same smart people, they quickly learn that the system is not set up for them to ever reach the other end of the board.
Show MoreCons
1. Leadership is untrustworthy, unethical, fueled with rampant sexism, racism, and consistent inconsistency in direction. 2. Poor management, as pointed out in so many other reviews. The title of Sr. Leadership should be reserved for those that lead by example and display honesty and integrity, inspire others, great decision-making capabilities, delegation, and empowerment, etc. That definition does not... represent the Sr. Leadership team at Feedzai. The Sr. Leadership team is comprised of a bunch of people that lack the real possession of what it means to be a leader. Resulting in the misappropriation of information to cover up the unethical business practices to mislead the board, the investors, and the employees. The high turnover rate is just one of the leading indicators of this, and it is growing year over year, and although they try to cover it up, as a data science company employed by hundreds of smart people, we did the math, and the numbers don’t lie. 3. No real long-term goals instead it just a list of the continual change of direction and targets. Important project decisions are made based on the leadership team’s daily mood. A project that is the company’s number one goal becomes obsolete the next week. New projects are started without due diligence and canceled within a few months dimensioning all the effort that was spent on them spaning in every department if the company. 4. Unprofessional behavior, jobs are threatening quarterly if the teams don't hit their unrealistic goals (not just the sales goals). I also have observed many instances of people yelling at employees in meetings and using profanity. Anyone of these behaviors would have resulted in severe consequences at an ethical company, but since the Sr. Leadership team are the ones responsible for these heinous acts, they never get reprimanded (it's the Feedzai way). 5. Lack of career development. Promotion decisions are based on favoritism, or as an incentive when they know someone is planning on leaving the company. 6. Every department is overwhelmed with the high amount of workload, mostly attributed to poor management, lack of strategy, moving targets and high turnover. 7. Company’s response to these criticisms so far have been: (1) ignore them (2) its growing pains (3) not everyone can handle the pressure that comes with a company in "hyper-growth" (4) plant fake reviews * watch and see a good review will be posted right after this one to offset the companies bad ratings.

Job seekers read all the reviews (filter from the most recent), this will assist you in making an informed decision about future employment opportunities at Feedzai. I made a crucial mistake by ignoring the reviews, and I have regretted joining the company since my first day of work. You might ask, did I address the review's on Glassdoor during the interview process and the answer is yes, unfortunately, at the... time I had no idea how impressive the Sr. Leadership team was at "spinning the truth" to persuade other employees and me to accept their offers. Sr Leadership, please start by acknowledging that you are the problem. Let you go of the ego structure and be open to rigorous honesty. Conduct a compressive evaluation of your past mistakes so, you stop repeating them (definition of insanity). Take full responsibility for the problems that you have created and eliminate the toxicity in Sr. Leadership team that is bringing down the company; it will boost morale and respect from the employees. Lastly, the majority of Feedzai's most essential departments are overseen by a specific individual that is notoriously known for their lack of emotional intelligence and is the most hated person in the company (NOT the CEO but works closely with him). Feedzai, the most important thing for the internal culture, is to do an audit of the Sr. Leadership team and find the person(s) that make other employees miserable and get rid of them. Cancer spreads.

The CEO and tech are brilliant. Before you work here, please reach out to former employees. We're happy to let you know what the San Mateo office is really like.
Cons
I wrote a negative review, and not surprisingly, a bunch of positive reviews came after. Not fishy, not fishy at all...

Good Lord! Read what has been said by myriad people before me, and don't expect that a bunch of flowery reviews from the other offices makes this situation any better. You are brilliant and and giving, but you are letting this person tank your vision with her histrionics!!!
