I have been working at Fehrer South Carolina full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Management is strong and going in the right direction. The facility is expanding and growing the business, more organized than years past. They are more conscious of their employees but still have customer orders to satisfy, they are doing a good job with that.

    Cons

Mechanical difficulties are present that impact production but maintenance crew makes the effort with available resources, turnover of temp employees is a challenge but they are making strides in that area as well.

    Advice to Management

Keep going, bring all available resources to bear on trying to work through the challenges on both mechanical and personnel. Maybe consider direct hires instead of temp employees which may help stabilize the workforce and reduce the overtime cost.

    Pros

it was small company , 8 hours shift nice people to work with and good benefit

    Cons

not much overtime , not paying enough, the more you work hard they give more work ,where I was working , i was by my self at the when some one else work there they would give him some one to help him and that was not right thing to do , you have to treat people equal .

    Advice to Management

I worked at Fehrer South Carolina full-time

    Pros

Plant management staff is 1st rate. Fehrer has manged reorganization very well.

    Cons

Uncertainty behind the company's cash status that lead to massive reorganization. There is little room for advancement in foreseeable future.

    Advice to Management

Continue doing what you're doing. It has worked.

I worked at Fehrer South Carolina full-time

    Pros

A good and pleasant place to work and learn automotive principles with a tier two supplier. The company has great benefits. The people at the local plant are very good.

    Cons

Unwillingness to make the correct positive changes to increase productivity and/or efficiency. Corporate doesn't listen to the advise of the local plants. If someone has an idea and it is not coming from the home office, either domestically or internationally, ideas fall on deaf ears. There is a disconnect between the plants and an unwillingness to collaborate for the good of the entire organization.

    Advice to Management

The upper management is weak and unethical at the corporate level. They have let some remarkable and talented people go. The management practices are ill advised and not professional.
