I have been working at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decently-paid. Flexible management. Solid company.

    Cons

Internal promotions and upward mobility are frequently touted, but are not actually the norm. Once you’re in a position, it can be very difficult to get out. Also, the facilities are aged and in need of modernization, including more transparent offices to offer natural light to employees who work at the center of the building and updates to the floor plan that would make it less like the standard corporate cube farm and more like the family atmosphere they promote as a part of their cultures and values.

I have been working at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Going home at the end of the day.

    Cons

    - Being timed for using the restroom.
    - Outdated equipment.
    - Lack of leadership
    - Lack of coverage.
    - Very much a call center.
    - Poor/dangerous facility grounds.

In the year I've been here, there has been two active shooters reported on the campus. Break ins are somewhat common in the parking area.

You will be absolutely exhausted at the end of the workday supporting many systems with very little coverage, poor performers, and lack of guidance.

If that's not enough, Ferguson severely underpays its employees even compared to lesser support positions. If you have an opportunity elsewhere, please consider your options. This place is the very definition of overworked/underpaid.

    Advice to Management

Hire actual managers instead of seat fillers. Management frequently take long breaks and are very poor at handling high volume and major system incidents/downtime.

Most managers have proven to have little to no knowledge in the part of the business they're managing.

I have been working at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, excellent job security, competitive pay, lots of opportunity

    Cons

Benefits are good but not very competitive, the company culture is slowly changing from its employees to its bottom line

    Advice to Management

Review benefits packages and make comparisons to companies outside of your industry to remain competitive. Hire a consultant to review the organization and make recommendations on how to attract and retain millennials and generation Z workers. The lack of focus in this area is going to be crippling in the coming years.

    Pros

    -Solid Benefits
    -Good work life balance
-True "Work Hard, Play Hard" environment
-In general, the company provides itself on treating its employees well and delivering excellent service to its broad customer base.

    Cons

-401K match is below industry averages for a company the size of Ferguson
-Sometimes internal processes are affected by the "This is the way it has always been done" mentality.
-Compensation seems to lag behind market rates in the area.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in technology and associates. When your people are happy, you will win more, increase revenue, and keep/gain key customers!

I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Laid back culture is about it

    Cons

Management takes 2+ years to provide you with a job description so you have no way to know if you're on the right track. Offer $.50 pay increases to employees as promotions. Unequal pay for women, favoritism in internal hiring, racism in management, 50 + hour work weeks, performance evaluations are copy/pasted from one year to the next because management is disengaged/couldn't care less about employee development process. Managers/directors refuse to make changes to better the work environment, regardless of the merits, because "that's how it's always been done." HR complaints are kept in house and thrown in the trash to protect interests of management. Will work employees into the ground to avoid adding necessary resources in order to keep management bonuses each year. Openly tells their employees that they should just deal with it because "no one else is hiring." Management doesn't view key employees (or any) as company capital, because they're doing you a favor by giving you a job.

    Advice to Management

Remove the management "good ole boys club" and bring in some educated, innovative and inspiring leaders with proven experience. Management in place is autocratic, outdated and ineffective. Unfortunately, key managers are in roles they shouldn't be due to 'right place, right time'. Serious changes are needed from the top down, otherwise, high turnover rates will continue as loyal but burned out employees leave you for new firms.

I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good compensation, decent potential for career opportunities if one makes the right connections, job security

    Cons

To tweak a quote from "The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly"-"You see, in this company there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with work life balance and those who work." Managers have the tendency to play favorites and favorites get all kinds of perks like being able to come in after 9am and leave at 4pm, the option to work from home, taking whole weeks for vacation, and having little supervision (multiple 20 minute coffee breaks, chatting with friends, and making personal phone calls every single day). Other employees are expected to work until after 6pm (even later than some of the managers) doing the bulk of the work with no breaks and little to no vacation while being micro-managed every step of the way.

    Advice to Management

Review current processes and the distribution of workload to address inefficiencies and reduce the possibility of burnout. For example, if one employee spends an hour each day sitting on top of another employee's desk chatting, maybe redirect some of the responsibilities from the employees who are drowning in work to those individuals.
