    Pros

Work life balance, open mindedness in an old school industry, foreward thinking.

    Cons

FEI does a good job of advancing the careers of dedicated associates. I’d like to see more dedicated females holding Mechanical, Indstrial Outside positions. Sales Managers and Area Mangers to be more specific. We are doing a great job of moving in the right direction.

    Advice to Management

Keep thinking outside of the box.

    Pros

Depends on region you work. One region will treat you like family while another will not.

    Cons

Lower pay scale than industry standards.
Poor management training at the store level.
    Lack of communication.
    Abusive management in some locations.
Promotions are dependent on your relationship with the management doing the promotion, not necessarily on your skill, education or qualification level. Paid leave time is great after you have been there long enough.

    Advice to Management

Management will not take advice. They overlook situations of abusive lower level management that is documented and substantiated. There is very little oversight from senior management over store level management besides phone calls. Some store managers are excellent in their demeanor and position with employees, some are not even remotely close to the demeanor one would expect with a publicly owned company. Examples such as yelling and getting angry over minor issues. Withholding opportunities because of their own personal issues. Getting upset at employees asking for a raise. Holding grudges. Verbal abuse. Everything that a manager should not be, at this company, you will find managers that have all of these attributes and more. 401k match is low, this company is making a lot of money, they could stand to up their 401k match.

    Pros

Very big on family atmosphere and great people to work with.

    Cons

A lot of favoritism is displayed and pay does not add up to the work load that is expected for one to take on.

    Advice to Management

Management tries to hide neglect the fact that the changes and other circumstances are unfair.
