    Pros

Decent pay; though not top wages. Most employees get along well and work together as a true family team. Several bonuses; more than anywhere EVER previous. Free coffee, ice, and water. Occasionally provided with free donuts and luncheons; free meal, drinks, and snacks during bi-annual inventory. Team member recognition during hiring and anniversary. Promotions available to those whom will undergo training and/or those with formal further education, perseverance, hard work, and willingness to learn and take on extra responsibility. Management friendly. Growth booming since prior to actual grand opening; possibility of advancement for certain positions and locations. On-line training courses. Great camaraderie amongst most team members.

    Cons

Pay not the greatest especially with today's crazy over inflation costs; hard to survive as an individual contributor to family income; other nationwide locations with similar cost of living paid much better for lesser positions/credentials. Some individuals seem to be favored over others; not having to "pull weight" during "all hands-on-deck" moments; not ALL rules seem to apply to ALL individuals. Transportation navigation devices and credit department navigation entries not always accurate causing navigation errors and issues to drivers, including being navigated into residential/no truck routes; need traditional ELD devices with TRUE truck routes. Communication throughout various levels often nill to none; poor at best. Successful branches not motivated nor rewarded equally. Advancement for more labour intense positions minimal at best; especially without formal education. Need more/better ventilation and fans for warehouses. Warehousing crews often over worked (long hours) and not regularly highly appreciated. Customers favored over team members; teams often having to perform extra or unnecessary work, where time, attention, and labor could be focused on more important and necessary functions. Often difficult getting necessary items (i.e. toilet paper, paper towels, packaging tape, etc.).

    Ferguson Enterprises

Sep 11, 2022 - OUTSIDE SALES in Sacramento, CA
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

You can meet some great customers.

    Cons

They want you drink the cool aid and seem to be headed towards call centers and retail service. High turn over in the warehouses and fundamental flaws completely ignored in pursuit of continuous business changes. We are our own worst enemy and everyone just goes along with what ever program is being served. Character and independence have been eliminate. Integrity has given way to frustration. No one likes the new Ferguson, employees and customers alike. Yet area mangers are so in love with falling in line and spewing corporate speak they will auto repeat everything is the best like a happy robot.

    Pros

Friendly environment, room for advancement in most roles, good bonus/merit increase system. Lots of PTO, 401K, great insurance and other perks.

    Cons

Do not care for management structure overall (too many managers in created roles that are not needed while in other places they are forced to remain understaffed for long stretches. Outdated systems. Pay structure needs to be updated/increased

    Great benefits

    Aug 2, 2022 - COUNTER SALES

    Pros

Great benefits. Easy to take time off. Great advancement opportunities for new college grads with no experience. Easy to get noticed if you play golf and drink alot.

    Cons

Restrictive micro management hinders sales and customer service frequently. Less autonomy every year for sales and service roles - makes it feel more like factory work. If you're not a recent college grad, you're probably not going to find career advancement here, but that varies wildly from branch to branch. Transfers to other branches and positions rely heavily on the support of your direct supervisor. Supervisors come across more like competitors than allies. If you leave the company, you may be able to negotiate a better position, but only after leaving. The status quo is cherished.

    Brutal Expectations

Sep 19, 2022 - Operations Coordinator in Lewisville, TX
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

You can work from home in most positions so that's nice.

    Cons

There are 4 weekends a year that you can not take off at all no matter what. Another employee had a death in the family and was told he could not go to the funeral because it fell on one of those weekends. Taking Time off is a huge pain. You better hope you are the only one who wants that time off otherwise you are out of luck or in for a fight to get the date. You will most likely be in a constant state of understaffed.
