    Pros

Professional atmosphere, flexible hours, some training opportunities available, company is growing and gaining more attention in more areas of business

    Cons

Poor management in some areas, budget restrictions in place more often than not even with a need to hire more people

    Pros

Ferguson is a great company overall.

    Cons

Politics undermined the ability to advance skills

    Advice to Management

Seriously consider having another/an additional corporate location outside of the Tidewater area, to open up the candidate pool and put pressure on career squatters

    Pros

Benefits, good advancement, if in sales role on commission pay is good as long as work very hard

    Cons

If no degree and not in commission role pay is poor. Work extremely hard for either a lot of money or little. Company going through a culture change with a lot of young people

    Advice to Management

Pick a culture/ and customer base and stick to it. Let your managers manage and listen to your employees (not trainees, but older associates) and customers.

    Pros

Internal transitions available. Get higher sal at each one. So not too shabby. Would recommend finding a good manager. Yep

    Cons

Managers promoted from politics rather than skill. French majors as IT heads, HR majors running analytics departments without knowledge of how to work with data. As a result poorly managed

I have been working at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good insurance, paid holidays, never had any problems receiving payment for hours worked.

    Cons

High deductible on insurance. Very low hourly pay for jobs that require certifications. They pay about 20 percent lower than the regions average for similar jobs. They also prefer college graduates and promote them faster than experienced employees. I couldn't help but noticed how many employees sat stagnant while college graduates were placed in a program and quickly sent up the ladder despite experience or work ethic. Even though the more experienced employees carry about 85% of the branches work load. Kind of a good ole boy system, excluding work history over who's going to the lake house with the boss on the weekends!!! The things you ignore like the branch manager letting Freon out without using recovery tanks, ect.....

    Advice to Management

It would be nice to be considered for everyday work history and effort. Not everyone wants to be part of the social circle and should be rewarded for their efforts and hard work fairly!!!!

I worked at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Competitive working environment with fair pay, managers were fair and great to work for.

    Cons

Very long hours were required to work daily.

    Advice to Management

The long work hours required didn't balance work and home life.
