progressive, aggressive market leading company, promotes from within, very good benefits, good training program, you rise according to your drive and desire

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Ferguson Enterprises full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, great coworkers, positive attitude from leadership, company tries hard to be a good employer

    Cons

Favorites advance at astonishing rates, often without time to prove value or competence in roles. (2 new roles in a year) Everyone else is pretty much ignored or taken for granted. No career path or counseling on how to achieve next level. Lots of long term employees who form an impenetrable old guard network and who make a lot of poor decisions. This creates an odd organizational structure in some areas as senior jobs are created for favorites.

    Advice to Management

Do a better job of identifying competent people regardless of tenure and manage their careers with TLC. If you don't, an improving economy will bite you hard as those people find better advancement elsewhere.

    Pros

Good benefits, 401k help readily available, plenty of hours to work, decent pay (depending on position).

    Cons

Lack of career guidance, 50 plus hour weeks (you will get forced to work some Saturdays).

    Pros

The people at my warehouse really care about you and help you out. Best group I have worked for.

    Cons

Lots of overtime, one small break for the warehouse crew and none if you drive box truck. A lot of physical work and manual labor. Small crew so hard to take time off, even though we get a lot.

    Pros

Able to do a lot of different jobs

Colleagues are always willing to help out

Ability to go on customer visits and after work outings helps build relationships

On a branch level, management cares about employee development.

    Cons

Never seem to have enough delivery drivers to get product shipped.

Waterworks cuts OT in November/December - however with that, it's nice to have a change from the 7-5 daily grind.

    Training could be better

"Path" to different titles/jobs can sometimes seem longer, depending on personnel changes
