    Pros

Not a difficult job, flexible hours, decent starting pay.

    Cons

You only get raises based on the companies bottom dollar for the year not your job performance. So if you have a mild winter most likely no raises or bonuses for anyone. They kept promising f/t but never made good on it.

    Advice to Management

value the low men on the totem pole

    Pros

    Benefits, Employee Owned, ESOP Plan

    Cons

Not enough staff. In some area employees do the work of 3 or 4 people while others areas don't even perform a full time workload.. Dedication & doing a good job is rewarded with additional work load, yet no added compensation. Layoffs following "bad winters". No loyalty to dedicated long term employees. There is a definite pattern of eliminating older (by age) and long tenured employees without even giving them an option to take another open position within the company.

    Advice to Management

When you "eliminate" someone's position, if other openings are available, you should at least make the offer of that position available to the employee before just casting them out.

    Pros

Good companies you, good benefits, decent pay.

    Cons

Environment and culture much like high school. The employees formed cliques and exhibit unprofessional behavior which made it a difficult professional environment to work in. There were 2 huge layoffs in the last 5 years.

    Advice to Management

Upper management was great. Lower level managers should be a little more welcoming and approachable to new employees. Look into hiring a more culturally diverse population.

I have been working at Ferrellgas Partners part-time

    Pros

Work Independently and get to do job safely

    Cons

Heavy cost cutting during warm years. No pay increase is nearly a given when this happens. Tracked too statistically vs. doing best customer service for clients.

    Advice to Management

Try to foster more of a team effort and heavily incentivize new account sales for all employees. (Both individual and market goals.)

    Pros

Great place to work with great employees and direct management. I started as a temp the end of 2012 and was hired on earlier 2013. My direct manager is awesome and created an environment that is friendly, welcoming and team/customer oriented.

    Cons

New Branch Manager has taken away from the team and family atmosphere created by the direct manager. Not very people friendly and doesn't seem to value employees that report to him.

    Advice to Management

Branch Manager need to follow direct manager lead in how he deals with the employees and need to return back to the family atmosphere.

    Cons

too frequent zone and structure changes

    Advice to Management

back to basics, but still make good/patient decisions in new technology. i.e. Handhelds

Benefits are great. Stock options add up quickly although to takes awhile to vest.

    Cons

October to March can be brutal. Work/life balance definitely changes during the winter.

    Advice to Management

    Invest more in your employees.
