I have been working at Ferrellgas Partners full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Amazing benefits and good pay.

    Cons

Employees rotate on-call responsibilities weekly, this hinder planning events outside of work when the company is short employers within a service location. I mention this because I have shared on-call between only two employees many times throughout my time with the company.

    Pros

Some of the best customer service specialists in the business!!! We went above and beyond to make our customers love us!!

    Cons

Due to winter conditions in Eastern Ky, it was sometimes difficult to convince customers to let us know BEFORE they ran out of gas...in a harsh winter it could possible take up to 2 weeks to get them their product because of the road conditions in that area. Also in a mild winter, a Seasonal employee could be out of a job long before it had been planned.

    Advice to Management

We just keep up the great work to make our customers happy and make Ferrellgas the premiere in the Liquid Propane industry!

I have been working at Ferrellgas Partners full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

New operating model focuses on growth and customer satisfaction. The new push is resulting in better pricing for customers and allowing OM's, OS's and drivers more latitude to interact and control their customer count in their respective areas. The company offers some of the best benefit packages to include a 401K matching initiative, ESOP, educational benefits and awards to top-performers.

    Cons

Continuous Change in company results in large management change-over. Constant change in focus can be very confusing. Customer pricing should be reflective of the area of operation and competitive with the direct competitors in that area. The annual review system is very subjective and influenced by directors, these reviews drive employee pay raises. it is very unfair to have a rating system that is rated 1 to 5 and the 5 being impossible to attain.

    Advice to Management

Let managers manage and develop a business strategy that is current and points in the direction the company wants to go. The values, mission and goals should be reflective of this strategy. There should be programs offered to each position within the company to encourage employee retention.
