I worked at Fidelity Investments (More than a year)

    Pros

Great company with lots of opportunity for advancement and career changes with god benefits, and good pay. I worked at the company for over 10 years and learned a lot about retail and B2B investments. Have a few FINRA licenses (24,65, 63, 7, 31, and Insurance) and was working towards my CFP that was supported and sponsored. There are also lots of internal and OTJ trainings. Plenty of great people and some pretty awesome financial industry leaders. It's a privately owned company so if they want to pursue something they don't have to get the stock holder's buy in and they allow the employees to provide input on a lot of the process and employee engagement improvements that are currently in place. Overall it's a very dynamic culture constantly changing.

    Cons

Super lager company so you could feel like just another worker and that your voice doesn't count. At times the hiring process when moving between roles can be a bit monotonous (in that it's a hurry up to wait months situation). Overall it's a very dynamic culture and constantly changing so if change is not what you like this probably isn't for you.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work, continue to involve the employee and try and be more transparent with future plans as well as potential institutional clients

    Pros

Excellent pay and benefits. Fidelity has the right intentions and they always error on the side the employee. The challenge here is that they often keep corrosive employee's around.

    Cons

Soul crushing bureaucracy. Non technical management in a technical field equals poor decision making.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting HR move the bullseye every 6 months.

    Pros

Good technology exposure. Work life balance.

    Cons

Lot of changes happening recently. Be prepared to do lots of presentations, local initiatives vs. real work and innovation. Risk averse.

    Advice to Management

FMR India top management is tenured, good and well established, Nepotism started seeping in as in some places as you go up in the ladder. Its good practice to be transparent and highlight achievements made at least during higher level promotion announcements.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Since it is a private company, we benefit from autonomy and under Abby's leadership there have been quite a few changes that positively impact employees such as paid time off is now pooled so you have many opportunities to take time off as needed. Since there is such a large pool of talented employees, we each have access to a large network of people to help us grow both as individuals and as employees.

    Cons

Large size can be difficult to navigate at times, but all you need to do is network and ask for recommendations on who to talk to. Work from home/remote opportunities are limited, which makes inclement weather work days a real challenge. Employees have to endure terrible and risky commutes as they have no other choice.

    Advice to Management

Continue on the path of fostering and supporting work/life sway. Keep trying out employee ideas in the Greenhouse, and bringing to life innovative ideas that keep this company in the short list of best companies to work!
