    Pros

Great benefits including health, dental, vision. 7% 401k match plus 10% profit sharing although it takes 5 years to be vested. They also help pay student loans and offer free tuition for continuing education

    Cons

Hard to advance, many lay offs, culture treats one as a robot or machine instead of a person. Phone center is brutal

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They are many, 10% Profit sharing, 7% Matching 401K, 90% Tuition Reimbursement, Paid Family Leave (adoption/birth -not just Moms), Opportunities for those who actively seek them.

    Cons

Very stringent metrics in call center. You will be measured on how close you adhere to your schedule, and how efficient you are
We can't function profitably otherwise. Pay is not the highest in the industry but the benefits are outstanding and demonstrate they are focused on maintaining quality staff.

    Advice to Management

Maintain transparency, don't forget the call centers are the heart of the business. We are the first interaction customers have with Fidelity. We matter!

Great people who are smart and innovative

    Cons

    Pros

    They have a great facility.

    Cons

Not much room for advancement. Losing talented young people because they cant move up in their postilion. Roles are filled by veteran employees who have no desire to move up in the company.

    Advice to Management

    Cultivate young talent.

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    Awesome benefits
    Incredible co-workers
    In house subsidized cafeteria

    Cons

    Unstable, too many layoffs
    Poor work life balance
Highly political, gets in the way of getting your job done
Constant change with lack of planning, lack of completely funding, lack of follow thru
So many layers of management that higher levels have no idea of true status of projects, or work conditons

    Advice to Management

Make plans for upcoming changes, completely fund it, everything that is needed, support it at the highest levels and find out what the status truly is (not what is reported thru the multiple levels). Also find out what conditions are on the front lines.
Stop treating employees like guinea pigs that you experiment on. Your actions seriously affect people's lives.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Probably has one of the best benefit packages in the industry.

    Cons

Morale is low due to forced buyouts (you have a huge bulls eye on your back if you're over 50) and more announced layoffs. Not surprising...in its heyday, Fidelity made tons of money despite its inefficiencies and bad processes. All that is coming back to haunt them...and senior managers are more worried about their bonuses than really changing the culture...

    Advice to Management

Re-examine your life. Think about something other than money. It's not that important.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Diversified financial services giant enjoys exceptional and talented employees and customers

    Cons

Due to foundational changes in the financial industry, currently making significant cuts in cost through retirement packages and layoffs. Staffing strategy is to hire young talented people to replace older highly experienced people.

    Advice to Management

Be very careful about releasing all of your experienced people. Yes, they cost more, but they keep the company running well.

I worked at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Amazing opportunities for incompetent people.

    Cons

Only incompetent people get promoted. Managers and upper management are extremely insecure and have no idea what they are doing. Constant lies are feed to the employees on a daily basis. The good performers are stuck in their roles and do not get promoted so that the manager can benefit from their stats. Terrible employees always get promoted so that the manager does not have to deal with them anymore. If you are a woman here you will immediately get promoted and preferential treatment. Lots of stress here and terrible work environment. Management and upper management in this company are the most conniving narcissistic people you will ever meet.

    Advice to Management

Most managers their should never be a manager or in any type of leadership position.
