I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Amazing company benefits, great price on healthcare, 10% profit sharing, 7% company match, 20% bonus opportunity, tuition reimbursement and student loan help

    Cons

Eventually you hit a ceiling and company is not great making you aware of other opportunities, Lack of mobility after a few years with the company; WPA department not as respected as others in the organization; salary is not as competitive as others in industry due to too much focus on benefits

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Steady paycheck no matter what. Good match and good culture/work environment. Plus, you get to learn about the financial world, which most of us didn't when we were in school!

    Cons

Phone jobs can be a burnout (they always are) but it's better than something like Comcast or Verizon customer service.

    Advice to Management

Middle management is mostly made up of people who are good at schmoozing, but not so good at their actual job. Higher up management is brilliant though. Fidelity is run by Abby Johnson, one of the most powerful women in the world.

I have been working at Fidelity Investments full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Lots of good people, friendly culture, great benefits, great campuses with nice scenery and amenities. Interesting and challenging work to grow your skills.

    Cons

Low base pay, hard to get promotions, in a cost cutting mode, decreasing work/life balance, cafe food not that good

    Advice to Management

Be careful not to squeeze everything out of your employees. Loyalty and trust drive hard working associates not cliches and tag lines. Look for people in the organization to tell you what you need to know and not what they think you want to hear. Associates are increasingly pressured to do more, more, more when most of us are already working hard. Your compensation philosophy needs an overhaul because it doesn't support people feeling valued by the company for the work they do. Ask yourself how much are you willing to sacrifice for more profits? Culture? Talented and loyal associates? Integrity? Reputation? Where is that line?

I have been working at Fidelity Investments as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great work culture and respectful employees willing to give time and energy to interns. Easy to make meetings with other employees in different business units showing a great culture of sharing knowledge and experiences.

    Cons

Lack of control when it comes to intern work/ loose standards for greenhouse projects that could of been worth more of interns time if attached to a current employee to help out in the planning.

    Advice to Management

It would be hard to speak for all managers because of the positive experience I had with mine. I know some managers were more active with interns that others, so I would recommend better check-in requirements for managers with interns.
