I have been working at Fifth Third (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of branches, huge network of people and opportunities to move up or to back office in madisonville. Branches are customer focused

    Cons

Extreme micro management, management above the branch network is overloading its employees with trackers, check ins, reports. And forgetting we deal with customers a great part of our day.

I have been working at Fifth Third full-time

    Pros

Benefits are good, although increasingly more expensive. There are some great people who work here. Sadly they are far and few between.

    Cons

Counter productive work environment in a cube farm with obnoxiously loud coworkers. This includes managers with VP titles. Very few advancement opportunities. Pay is below average.

    Advice to Management

More emphasis on the core value of respect. Real employee engagement.

I have been working at Fifth Third full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexibility and tuition reimbursement, ability to purchase additional vacation time.

    Cons

Typical corporate bureaucracy, smooth talkers get promoted ahead of hard workers.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to the little people. They see more than you think and know what is working and what isn't.

I have been working at Fifth Third part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent experience in dealing with customers and getting acquainted with the retail side of banking
Great benefits and numerous opportunities for internal hiring

    Cons

Pay for a CSR/Teller is rather low.
Some branches/bankmarts will be absolutely busy or very empty
Manager will either make or break your experience: I've had one that took advantage of my schedule and didn't seek to help me when I first started, and another that was there for me and my fellow workers and kept the bank's core values

    Advice to Management

Always look out for the new recruits, make sure they are adapting to their new environment well, and always aim for their professional development. Never take advantage of anyone
