    Pros

Health benefits are good for full time employees.

    Cons

Management is HORRIBLE. You'll get fired simply because a manager doesn't like you. Managers have NO management skills.

    Advice to Management

Hire managers that possess good management skills not just good sales people.

    Pros

Unable to identify at this time

    Cons

    Outdated hardware, software, methodologies, management

    Advice to Management

Here are my observations on 5/3 Bank IT: The individuals in the IT dept. don't realize they work in an an IT dept. The software is 30 yrs. outdated, as is the hardware & the managers. There is no 'let's get this done' mentality, much less than 'get it done with technology'. The don't upgrade their legacy systems & as such they are cumbersome, poorly designed & frustrating to work with. At the end of the day there is no job satisfaction. Additionally all the IT managers have been there so long they reinforce this outdated methodology. The managers are rewarded handsomely & thus don't leave to advance their knowledge or careers. Those under them mosey along or leave, but despite the banks efforts for inclusion there is a definite feeling of 'those vs us'. Additionally, the shop is very much outsourced with a high percentage of offshore & onshore from the subcontinent. The bank has announced plans to upgrade floor plans & work stations but without innovative software or fresh management it will be an exercise in futility with much money spent. A young person interviewing with this company would be wise to interview elsewhere.

I have been working at Fifth Third full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I have been with Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati for 2 years. I love working here and they truly strive to keep the customer in mind in everything they do. The people are great to work with and everyone in my department made me feel welcomed from day one. The health insurance offered and 401k match is very good, much better than other companies are offering that I can see. I love my job and have met so many great people. They are on the "Top Places To Work" list and treat their employees well.

    Cons

Can't think of any at this time.

    Advice to Management

Fifth Third has a lot of talented people and to keep the talent, they need to consider pay structure. Compensate employees who have proven themselves instead of hiring externally for more money than they are paying employees.
