I have been working at Fifth Third full-time

    Pros

Great training provided to the new employees. The upper management are helpful and pay good attention to their lower ranking team.

    Cons

Getting to move around could take a while. I have been in same position for about 3 years.

I have been working at Fifth Third full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The bank is not as busy as others. There is room to grow if you are ambitious. There is more then enough time to learn all that you can.

    Cons

Management is always changing. Commitment isn't always there from management. There is no individual career plan for those who are ambitious. Staffing model is different and difficult.

    Advice to Management

Consider coaching more seriously. Improve staffing model. Invest into employees.

I have been working at Fifth Third full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Job security. Benefits are fair. Decent advancement opportunity. Somewhat flexible with scheduling. Highly involved in the community. Customer focused. Wages compare decently to competitors.

    Cons

Used to have the smaller, community bank feeling but is becoming more like the "big banks". Gives out a lot of "priorities". Sometimes it's best to focus on the small things that drive the big successes.

I have been working at Fifth Third full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to learn about the Institutional Asset Management business.

    Cons

    Lack of forward paths.
    Poorly thought out reorganizations.
    Low pay.

    Advice to Management

Create better paths for advancement, especially from your back and middle office areas. Pay scales are too wide and penalize internal transfer candidates over outside hires.
