I worked at Finance in Motion full-time

    Pros

    - Great office - Decent benefits - Diverse and international employees - A lot of really great people - Interesting countries and topics with the potential to learn a lot, especially at junior levels for one or two years

    Cons

    - Intransparent management that also ignores its own HR policies at times - Poor leadership by some in the company leading to a bad atmosphere - ALOT of politics due to: Fear of being seen as having made a mistake, excessive micromanagement and need to control down to the smallest detail, favoritism, allergy to being contradicted by juniors - Unclear long term strategic goal of company - Employees experience and... potential are often undervalued or ignored, limited chance for development

I worked at Finance in Motion full-time for more than a year

    Pros

International team, nice colleagues, nice offices, room for growth if you 'play the game' Interesting projects in interesting countries, exposure to interesting and relevant partners Being part of a growing market and getting to learn a lot by being involved (or supporting those being involved)

    Cons

Micromanagement at every level, there is a culture to make anyone below you feel less important/able and in the end it can feel like your work is meaningless Extremely hierarchical, culture of secrecy from the high-ups - many of the senior managers/directors have been there a long time Turnover rate is very high and leads to lots of gossiping

    Advice to Management

If the organization is going to promote that they have a start up culture and community then actually integrate it into how the company operates - have more trust in your staff and instill in your directors and managers to have more trust in their staff. More personal touch to the management.

I worked at Finance in Motion full-time

    Pros

its young people and the great atmosphere among them

    Cons

The management. Managers have no managerial skills, no leadership skills. They have great skills to put people down and give them less chances to suceed. The company has no social heart towards their own employees...some people are told on the last day of their probation that they should not come back wthout any warning signals, some are pushed out by one way or another... The company has a very high staff... turnover for all of those mentioned reasons

    Advice to Management

Build a social culture, respect your employees (consider that they also have a life), try to be less hierarchical (a lot of managers are extremely arrogant towards the "little people").

    Cons

The lack of trained managers and career development plan especially for the junior staff which I am belonging to.

    Advice to Management

To train the managers how to manage. To allow to take more responsibility
