I have been working at Financial Sciences full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The company culture is great- lots of employee appreciation. Its a fast paced environment, you definitely get out of it what you put in. Management is transparent and professionally organized with taking care of everything with details.

    Cons

The pressure is high during release cycles but there is a strong process in place for training people and helping out whenever you need it.

    Advice to Management

Continue with the open-door policy and transparency.

I have been working at Financial Sciences full-time

    Pros

I have been working here for 4 year. From a non experienced student till a good developer, I have to thank the management for helping me a lot. Also the product team is nice and always willing to share their knowledge and minds to me.

    Cons

Sometimes products release to several clients during same couple of day making people busy and stressful.

I worked at Financial Sciences full-time

    Pros

    Friendly staff

Good place to learn when starting out

    Cons

Financial Sciences' lack of process makes software cycle unncessarily stressful. In general, the senior management has been there a long time so there is a lot of ingrained behavior/stubborness and I wouldn't expect this to change. It's very hard to get process improvements even when you have a better argument.

Additionally, they kind of string your along when it comes to compensation and raises. When the company doesn't have a lot of paying projects they say maybe next year. Then when they get paying projects they want to reinvest in the business. Typically you'll get a bonus, but you're annual salary is already about 10K-20K below what you can get at another job.

Additional bonuses may be offered for specific projects, but the terms of them are usually pretty vague. Expect to follow up a lot to get what they promise.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good environment. Relaxed feeling, not always too busy.

    Cons

Very low efficiency. The CEO and CTO doesn't listen to employees' advises. Low motivation team. Have to work 9 ~ 6 everyday (1 hour unpaid lunch break.)

I worked at Financial Sciences full-time

    Pros

Staff (including managers) are friendly, and willing to share knowledge.

    Cons

The two biggest cons are the low pay and tight deadlines. As a result, people leave. You'll work pretty hard, but don't expect to be equally compensated.

    Pros

Great start for an entry level employee to gain experience in business, programming or technical areas. All senior employees seem willing to share knowledge when time permits.

    Cons

Evident favoritism and irregular or non-existence of employee performance reviews. Benefits are what you would expect from a small company.

    Advice to Management

Aside from what is mentioned in the "cons" the leadership at Financial Sciences appear to be doing a good job.
