I have been working at Finish Line part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

No matter the location the co workers were always really nice and fun to work with. The actual job it's self isn't so difficult, as long as customer service come easy to you.

    Cons

It is customer service... so if you aren't a people person, or don't handle customer interaction well, then this isn't for you.

    Advice to Management

Take your associates schedules to consideration. Respect hours of availability and there is no reason why they shouldn't preform for you and your store.

I have been working at Finish Line full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced, great ordering system, great bonus package, product is tailored to fit the demand of the area the store is located.

    Cons

Got away from the bread and butter, tends to catch onto trends too late. The assistant manager pay could be better.

    Advice to Management

There'sa need to compete and outsell the competition when available. Go back to getting PEs that everyone wants and listen to store management teams on what sells where.

I have been working at Finish Line part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Finish Line really pushed my capabilites. The management staff really wanted our employees to want to work. It was a fun environment. It was definitely different because the mall we worked at was a tourist attraction, so we met all sorts of people from tourists who don't speak a lick of English, to celebrities that are very well-known. Meeting all the cool people was probably the best part about it.

    Cons

Some bad experiences I've had with The Finish Line, is outside of our immediate management staff, upper corporate management ONLY cared about our numbers, and if we didn't hit our numbers, it would be our fault. The only problem with that was like I mentioned, we were in a tourist mall. The majority of our customers did not speak English so we had a language barrier and we have lost some customers due to it, but we tried our best to find ways around it. When we tell upper corporate management the issues we're having, instead of helping us find a way to work around it, they just told us: "You guys just need to keep pushing then, no excuses." It was rough but we did manage to work around it, but it would've been nice to receive some help.

    Advice to Management

When an employee comes up to you and describes their issues, please know that they are coming to you looking for some kind of guidance.

I worked at Finish Line full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Discount, loyal customers, great money making system. Build good relations with some coworkers.

    Cons

Management sucks, no room to grow, pay was minimum for the work I did and how long I was there. Bad attitudes with management, which gave it bad vibes and bad work experience.

    Advice to Management

    Perk up, stop being bipolar.

I have been working at Finish Line full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good company, straight forward with their expectations. Pretty easy to learn, although they need to train managers better before submerging them into the leadership role.

    Cons

They need to start providing more training to new management instead of asking us to lead and develop our team without managers being properly trained to manage and develop associates.

I worked at Finish Line part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, discounts, and great management

    Cons

The pay is minimum, it's a part time job so you only really put in about 5 hours/day

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more. They really work hard on the sales floor

I worked at Finish Line part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great environment, awesome discounts, access to latest styles, competitive.

    Cons

Unless you're management, you don't make much money. They got rid of commission.

    Advice to Management

Bring back commission. Take away the SI sign-ups.

I worked at Finish Line full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Worked there for 9 years and PTO accumulated faster the longer you had been with the company, regardless of position. Flexible hours.

    Cons

Pay seemed to decrease over the years and they lost many employees that had been around for a long time. By the time I left, there were associates that were being paid just as much some of the managers because of commission and the pay structure.

    Advice to Management

Value the employees that have been around. Make sure those that aren't in the store, yet are making decisions that impact those that are, have store experience or at least consult with the stores.
