    - Fun atmosphere; also your job to create that
    - Customer service expectations are amazing
    - Annual meeting they fly all store managers to Indy

    Cons

    - Tough to get promoted after being a store manager; no matter how long you been with the company
    - Upper MGT can be very unprofessional and play favorites regardless how well your doing

YOUR LOOSING A TON OF TALENT! BC UPPER MANAGEMENT IS ONLY CONCERNED WITH THEMSELVES GETTING AHEAD - YOUR ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR PEOPLE! STOP MAKING YOUR BEST EMPLOYEES LEAVE BC YOUR SO HOOKED ON EVERYONE BEING REPLACEABLE! SWALLOW YOUR PRIDE SHOW YOU CARE!

I have been working at Finish Line full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Finish Line training, mission and the brand is awesome. A person can gain a great customer service experience and salesmanship. If you love shoes, it can be very rewarding in many aspects.

    Cons

The pay changes often and commission can be challenging to hit bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Be sales driven, put the customer first and have a plan daily.

I worked at Finish Line (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great oppurtunity to learn in a fast paced environment to sell and be successful. Learned how to Train and Hire Great Employees.

    Cons

Provide longer tendered employees better opportunity to grow within company. Company doesn't promote from within as much as it should. Seemed to only care about your sales ratio when determining decisions as far as promotions are concerned. Commission structure was awful at the time.

    Advice to Management

District Managers should do a better job showing attention to stores in the district that are good and bad and less at excel spreadsheets.

    Pros

Great people, awesome discounts, good pay, good commission, management is great and just a fun but challenging job!

    Cons

Black Friday, Macy's employees were sometimes awful and on huge power trips.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it up!

I worked at Finish Line (More than a year)

    Pros

This position was located in Macys, Union Square, San Francisco CA. Everyone knows this city never sleeps and that made it very easy to make sales and get paid commission even though it was draw commission. They offered a base pay of $12.40/hour.

    Cons

Some of the hours sucked. You would go in and work for only 4 hours sometimes. This was very annoying especially if you lived far out of the city (like Fremont, San Leandro, etc) and had to pay a decent amount for the BART.

    Pros

    - Pretty easy job
    - Flexible hours for the most part
    - Good for college students
    - Friendly coworkers
    - Macy's AND Finish Line Employee discounts (awesome!)
    - Macy's is pretty decent for a retail place to work
    - You get to work AT Macy's, but don't have to work FOR Macy's, so you don't have to be pressured to meet their credit quotas, etc.

    Cons

    - Management will probably not be the best, depends on the store
    - Pressure placed on associates to sell insoles and other accessories, depending on your manager you can get written up if you don't perform.
    - Most of the time is spent standing around, so it kind of feels like you're wasting your time working there
    - You don't really learn about athletic shoes very much, it's mostly just style and a very slight knowledge of what the styles are for. Essentially no real training on the ins-and-outs of athletic shoes. This might also just be a problem at Finish Line Macy's.
    - There have been at least 4 different District Managers since I started working almost a year ago... They all try something new. I think that there is immense pressure on the DMs to innovate; for some reason they keep getting new ones.

    Advice to Management

    - Maybe stop cycling through so many different District Managers
    - Fix the shipment issues and send Finish Line Macy's some of the hyped up shoes

    Pros

Absolutely nothing is good about Finish Line

    Cons

Terrible upper management, district managers are lazy and work from home and do nothing

    Advice to Management

    Quit, you'll go under soon

I worked at Finish Line (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discount- although, you can't get a discount on the most popular shows you still get a cool discount. Also it's commission based but don't expect to get a nice check based off of it!

    Cons

    Management
    Hours
    Multitasking

I got hired for seasonal at the galleria mall in Houston. They put the schedule on group me and after a couple of weeks they just removed me from group me and basically didn't tell me when my last day was. Horrible management and supervisors!
