I worked at Firelands Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Small facility, tend to know most co-workers

    Cons

Management doesn't communicate, takes months for new hires, lateral moves, or promotion

    Advice to Management

    Step it up

I have been working at Firelands Regional Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nice co-workers, most of the time. South campus and main campus have a cafeteria. 9-5 hours.

    Cons

Pay is very low and they are always short staffed. If you are promoted, it can take months to get into your new position.

    Advice to Management

Pay people more. Then you wouldn't have so many open positions. People are leaving because the pay shows you don't appreciate your employees.

    Pros

Patients in area are great to care for! Clean facility in general. Better Hospital than FTMC.

    Cons

Upper management very inconsiderate of employees. Some higher ups dont care whatsorver.Unless your related to someone or a friend. Otherwise your replaceable and they do replace you. I've seen Supervisors lie and make promises and take advantage of some to coddle to others they know. If you stand up for yourself you get pushed out and HR dosnt help you.

    Advice to Management

Reconstruct your Management team.Your Employees are what makes your image good or bad by the care provided.

I have been working at Firelands Regional Medical Center (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good place to work, clean facility, most people are friendly

    Cons

Managers need to be more in touch with workers

    Advice to Management

Carr more about your employees and try to make sure good workers do not leave

I worked at Firelands Regional Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The hospital itself is nice, and is in the process of being updated. The benefits were good.

    Cons

ER Charge Nurses not welcoming to new staff, and make a point of showing it. Not only could Charge Nurses be unprofessional to co-workers but patients and family members as well. Management seems to be aware and unconcerned of the poor attitudes and high turnover rates. Pay is not good. Often enforce mandatory extra shifts for months at a time due to high turnover rates.

    Advice to Management

Probably would have continued working here if it wasn't for the poor attitudes and lack of quality of care being provided to patients.

I worked at Firelands Regional Medical Center part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people to be around all week, job was somewhat flexible, the PTOs and sick time were good.

    Cons

Pay wasn't that great. Sometimes they would expect you to work after you clocked out or expected you to work more hours in a week than you were hired for.

I have been working at Firelands Regional Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

work from home, structured sales environment, great product, and has great potential

    Cons

work from home, marketing direction is off, value quantity or quality, communication could use some work considering 80% of the employee base works from home.

    Advice to Management

build a better relationship with your employees, get employees together more often, if you hire someone for their abilities let them act on them. since a large majority of the workforce works from home, develop a once or twice a year company meeting to get everyone on the same band wagon.

I worked at Firelands Regional Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits immediately after hire, good networking, fun perks while working like baseball Fridays and popcorn.

    Cons

Very short staffed in every department. I got tricked into thinking I was going to do administrative work, however after a month on the job I was doing nurses aid work (I have a 4 year degree). There is no room for advancement unless you want to become a nurse.

    Advice to Management

Don't try to force everyone to go into nursing. Be upfront with new employees about what their job entails.
