    Negative Outlook

I worked at Firestone Building Products Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a good companiy with good people working for it

    Cons

The management should be managing the products and people in a more productive way

    Advice to Management

Ballence the load amount throughout the plant, several people are doing nothing while a few are working overtime to pickup slack.
Product orders are in feast or famine mode, the product orders should flow through the cutting and delivery process instead of hurry and wait status that is currently being maintained

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Firestone Building Products Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Most of the people are easy to work with

    Cons

Too many managers/ supervisors, and neither of them can make a decision

    Advice to Management

Stop having so many meetings. Listen to employees, treat employees better. Stop trying to change so much at once

    Pros

The people were the best part of Firestone. I felt like I was making a difference every day. Very good pay and bonus potential. Great location for operations.

    Cons

Over the past 2 years, morale was at an all time low, because of decisions made by management (local and in Indianapolis). In January 2016, 3 of the 4 Metal plants were shutdown, and several people in the Anoka office lost their job. The process was very demeaning and uncaring to many of these people, and I lost all respect for this company I once was very proud of. I was lucky enough to have the education and the skill set to leave the organization, and find another place of employment.

    Advice to Management

Not sure there is much, as the Metal side of the company is falling apart. My guess is this segment of the organization will be closing its doors with 2 years.

    Pros

They had money and did not need banking.

    Cons

They allowed the people with the industry connections, insight and know how to either leave or they had them leave. Because of egos they missed one of the greatest industry opportunities without even knowing it.

    Advice to Management

Because they continue within the same paradigm, there is no advice they would accept.
