I worked at First American International Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Gain the basic knowledge of how to handle different transactions. Friendly coworkers or supervisors who are willing to teach you how to juggle between tasks effectively.

    Cons

Management is poor, especially when handling customers' priorities. Constantly being interrupted by managers while customer is right in front and in the middle of a transaction. The capable employees were not rewarded with proper raise nor bonus, but more workload. Any sales opportunity and incentive were snatched by senior sales associate/managers. They will tell you to make cold calls during promotions, but when you find someone you know, who come to open the promotional accounts, those accounts do not count as your merit. Nothing good will be said in your performance report even you work hard and intent to help increase sales.

    Advice to Management

If clearing the line is the priority, do not interrupted while customer is in front of the window. Instead, after finishing the customer in front, close that window, pull the teller to another window and handle your desired transaction, or ask the customers in line to wait accordingly since your transaction may need to be handle before anyone. Give warnings to and possibly getting rid of the ones who bend the rules and proper procedures and the ones who are incapable. Give proper guidance and raise to the ones who worked hard and willing to drive sales.

I worked at First American International Bank full-time

    Pros

work hours were short. very laid back job. not much customers coming in. worked in Chinatown so lunch was always different so many varieties.

    Cons

the salary is horrible. good for people who needs a laid back job and just wants health benefits. salary wont get you anywhere in life. the management is horrible. most managers dont speak fluent english. so if your a college grad. the manager will most likely make you do everything.

    Advice to Management

please have the managers changed. keeping management because they are there is the bank was established. but thats not how a business will continue to grow. if the managers are lazy and gets paid 4x what the banker makes.

    Pros

Worked in retail for one and a half year , just like other reviewers indicated , this job is very laid back , it's only good for new beginners or half-retired person.

    Cons

Even though Chinese speaking is very important in daily bases , English is also necessary. Many employees , even the managers are poor on English speaking . Also the salary is horrible for starting , but the manager who does nothing is many times higher.

    Advice to Management

Management is very essential for all the business , however , this bank lack of management . I do agree with other reviewers that some of the retail managers have to be switched . There are varies responsibilities that a branch manager should take , but I don't see it in some of the branch .

    Pros

They don't have sales goals, and the work/life balance is good. They have an annual party every year. They have a good benefits package.

    Cons

The company culture is top down. They don't listen to advice or ideas from others. It is very hard to move up in the company. It's not a merit-based growth environment.
