    Pros

    Good benefits (401k, insurance).

    Cons

It will really depend on your inmediate management. They say employees are first, but is not. Management is not really open to critique or improvement.

I have been working at First BanCorp (Puerto Rico) full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

On-Site Cafe, good people, clean facilities, free parking

    Cons

Management Engagement could and should be better. Some areas treat their employees great and others don't even take them out to lunch. The outsourced IT department could be better, they work very slow. Career path is not as clear as you may think. The Cafe is good but should have more healthy options for lunch.

    Advice to Management

Treat employees with care, be more engaged with them. Many people see it as managers can't interact with employees because of a superiority complex. Keep investing in technology; this is the way FB will grow.

    Doesn't Recommend

    Pros

Great benefits. You start out at 18 vacation days and the bank holidays include both US and Puerto Rican holidays. No copay for dental plan (at least from work I had).

    Cons

Very vertical management structure. Low pay. There was a feeling that many employees were repressed for many years. For corporate, it wasn't very professional at the office in terms of language.

    Advice to Management

Accept feedback from subordinates. Supervisors should be reviewed annually by their employees as well. They need to understand that their way isn't the only way to do things.
