    I have been working at First Bank of Nigeria full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    It's one of the reliable banks around so they have a huge customer base which means a bit of job security.

    Cons

    Too bureaucratic, too deep hierarchical structure that makes it difficult to rise to the top.

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of the cultural cloak that prevents line managers from receiving constructive criticism or even adopting an obviously better opinion.

    Monotonous work, poor work environment, some offices are under staffed

    Constant Saturday meeting should be stopped, over time pay should be increased.

    Great place to learn due to the number of projects being carried out yearly.
    The health scheme for staff is okay
    Liberty to express yourself (this depends on your line manager)

    Cons

    The salary is not that encouraging.
    Work can be stressful sometimes.

    Listen more to the employees so as not to loose good hands
    Salary increase
    Welfare of employees to be prioritized above projects

    You get challenged all the day, meet with diverse people and above all, love the people you work with.

    Work-Life balance is not at its premium, you work all the days of the week. Work in the office, from home, from vacation.

    Poor management commitment to employee welfare. Very little chance to move up in the organization. Culture does not align with policies.

    Advice to Management

    Be genuinely concerned about your employees. Align policies & culture.
