    No micromanagement.
    Get paid commission.
    Get great employee discount!

    Cons

    Management sucks.
Lack of work effort by some employees.
    Dealing with unsatisfied customers.

    Advice to Management

They need to step up and work. Be a good example for their employees. Instead of being lazy and taking breaks every 30 min.

    Pros

Moved up quickly within the company in a short period of time. Good pay with monthly and quarterly bonuses.

    Cons

Long hours with no time for family. Too many corporate policies established by people who have never worked in a pawnshop. They enact policies and rules that may look good on paper or sound good in a scenario.... but that will never work in a store environment.

    Advice to Management

I had no issues with district managers.... all great to work with. The upper management at corporate level need to spend some time working in a store several times a year to see how it really works! Instead if busting managers bal about things that are out of their control, get them involved with making policies. The managers have to please people on both sides of the counter. It's not just a numbers game! This company could go a lot further if there was a solid game plan, with better customer service and store employee support.

    Pros

I have never had any problem having hours to work. I have great benefits accumulated over many
    years with the company.

    Cons

Turnover is a constant in this business. Some people can not handle this type of work. With acquisition do not know how this will affect my benefits .

    Advice to Management

Remember it was the people that made your company. This is a very unique business and takes a special kind of person to this work.

    Pros

    Some great people.
Able to move up in the company.

    Cons

Some managers should not be managers. You can easily move up, however sometimes employees are not trained and/or fit to be managers.

Pay scale is not competitive to market.

I have been working at First Cash Financial Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

This company was stable with decent pay as you built your pawn book. There used to be lots of opportunities to work overtime. They continue to ask a minimum amount per hours per week but are willing to adjust your schedule for something important. The environment varies in each store and depends heavily on the store manager.

    Cons

Recent changes have taken place in regards to top management. The greatest change being the CEO. Under the old CEO employees were well compensated and treated with dignity. The new CEO is a cheap accountant who is only looking out for shareholders of the company and company's stock prices. This new CEO treats employees like cattle and implements budgets impossible to reach to avoid paying commission. He has gone as far as planning to pay less commission openly without disgrace. The company seems to be growing in the stock market because of the savings in unpaid commission and not in revenue as the the CEO implies. One of his tricks includes changing management pay system, taking away yearly contests such as the trip to Vegas, transferring employees with high pawn books to other stores to avoid paying them commission for continued interest profits, and taking away yearly awards dinner events for top performers. Also yearly hourly raises used to be $1, but now it's a joking 5 to 50 cents tops.

    Advice to Management

Top level management you turned this company from a home away from home into a slave house. Soon your older most trusted employees will leave the company and you will be left hiring new people. I must remind you, you are working with large amounts of cash and extremely high end jewelry. Your bad decisions will cause the company unprecedented amounts of shrinkage in the future which is going to have to be declared as loss. Your over-inflated stock prices will come to light and plummet. Spend one month as an entry level employee at one of the stores and you will see how you are causing the company to desintegreate. Otherwise, find a pawnbroker with an MBA to be your next CEO and not some over rated CPA.

I have been working at First Cash Financial Services (More than a year)

    Pros

Many nice people work there - Has medical benefits- Dental - Vision - 401K - Roth 401K- Company paid Life Insurance

    Cons

Little $ raises - Only 2 weeks vacation no matter how long you work for company- Big turnover - Very strick late/absent policies - Favoritism in some depts- Advancement opportunities are not even 1/2 as available as they say.

    Advice to Management

Take care of the good people. A decent raise would help keep people. A little more understanding when it comes to lateness & need of time off. Some management needs to learn how to treat people with respect & stop favoring people just cause they like them for some reason. They are the ones that get the understanding with time off & latness - There's many people with kids that get sick or have appointments during the day, not to mention the things people have to do during the day because many places are closing the same time or earlier then they get out of work.

    Pros

Commission incentive, decent starter benefits, environment can be interesting and you really learn the ropes of buying and selling.

    Cons

Bush league at times, can be overwhelming if you work in impoverished area, a lot of other back end physical and disorganized headaches.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your front line employees. DM's and higher can be pretty disconnected from how it is to be dealing with actual business and are slow to implement new ideas making things easier foe employees and more efficient for business.
